    Great for manhattan's and the go to for the namesake drink (really cuts through the absinthe/st. germain), this year's bottling feels a bit thin to drink on its own, I like a bit more spice and would probably go with rittenhouse on the lower end of the scale. but still a great rye.

    Had a dram at the distillery in 2009. Practically evaporated initially before a strong series of flavors. Would love to try again with my more sophisticated palate.

    I agree with the reviewer, I risked a bit of a bottle in baking once to great results. This is super sweet and spiced without being overpowering.

    This is a world of difference from regular jack for me as well. A lot smoother and much subtler on the sweet particularly on the finish.

    Just way too sweet. Was never a huge fan even in my salad days. Great distillery tour, though!

    Wish I could give the bourbon that first made me love bourbon four but over time it just no longer does it for me. Still great with soda or ginger ale but even in cocktails I go with others when possible. Still, a solid standby available around the globe.

    This is such a drinkable scotch, an all time fave. It is an absolute and insane shame that they did away with their year versions, as if this was readily available even at $150 or so I would drink an awful lot of this.

    For some reason I just think this goes so well with a cigar (and cold weather). Very drinkable, less heat than the regular bourbon, widely and easily available, affordable. You can do a lot worse.

    Definitely prefer the 10 and the rye is my go to for cocktails. However, this is a great starter bourbon that I give to my newbie friends and the slyly pour myself something more complicated, or am happy to drink myself if at the end of a party night.
