Tastes

This is an incredible flavor. Lots of spice, with some vanilla notes towards the end. It reminds me a lot of a barrel proof bourbon with the kick and the flavor. This will be a regular item in my cabinet.

This is actually my 2nd try. The first was after a few other bourbons, and I didn’t like this at all. On a second, fresh tasting this has strong floral notes, almost like hibiscus, and as odd as it sounds almost a rice taste. Sweeter with ice, and I think better.

This is really great. It reminds me a lot of Buffalo trace, with strong vanilla and carmel flavor. It’s a little bit smokier, but still very well balanced.

Cherries and chocolate. Get this if you like cherries and chocolate!!

It’s been a while since I had this, and it seems to get better with each tasting. Vanilla and honey are more noticeable up front, and the smokiness that I noted earlier is more of a peaty flavor. Very good.

This is not my first dance with Suntory Toki, but the first time in a while, and all I can say is HONEY, HONEY, HONEY. Very smooth and light, and the notes of fresh, sweet honey are impossible to ignore. It’s a great drink, perfect for a spring or summer evening.

This is delicious. Smooth, easy to sip, and has some spice to it which is not overwhelming at all. Just gives the drink a well rounded counter to the vanilla I think I’m picking up on. At this price, I will always buy a bottle when I can.

This is good but not great. It has a bit of cinnamon spiciness and not too much bite. Would be a great mixer or inexpensive bottle to take to a social.

Wow. This is amazing. Has a spicy, almost cinnamon taste at the beginning, with an orange aftertaste. SO incredibly smooth that it is difficult not to drink all at once. Definitely will be in my cabinet.

I’m having a hard time with this one. It’s a lot lighter than other offerings from High West, with not nearly as powerful flavors. I’m not tasting the floral notes others speak of, but the spice and leather flavors are more identifiable. Overall not my favorite, but worth the price. Straight rye whiskey drinkers will probably enjoy this more.
