Redbreast 12 Year Cask Strength
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed March 24, 2022 (edited April 25, 2022)So glad I tracked this bottle down. RB12 is up there in my favorites list but where it lacks a little in punch the cask strength delivers and then some. Vanilla, caramel apple, apricot into a nice smooth and delicious finish. -
Lagavulin Offerman Edition 11 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 10, 2022 (edited April 5, 2022)Toned down 16 year. Still smokey but sweet. I think Ron Swanson himself would drink this with a side of bacon and brunette. -
Christmas gift from a well meaning brother in Texas. Not my favorite pour but it’s different. Hardly anything coming through on the nose, maybe i have Covid again. Cinnamon, pepper and something fruity I can’t put my finger on. Surprisingly lengthy finish given the low proof and lack of overall complexity.

I enjoyed this pour compliments of my boy Jurassic Sean during a haircut, a nice little Thursday. First scent brought Ethanol, a few more rung out the vanilla and maybe fresh leather. Prominently tasted more vanilla, honey and oaks, I wish they’d proof regular Blantons up here in the 103 range or make this more available.
