Tastes

I got to sample two fingers worth of this in a Solo cup after an incredibly bad day at work. I might say that the effects of the job might taint this review, however, the drink was still fabulous. As the red plastic cup came to my lips, the scent of toffee was ever present, and very pleasant. The first sip brought on a wave of relaxation, followed by more and more sips. The vanilla flavor at the end was a nice ending to a long, long, long day.

The whisky definitely had the honey and orange marmalade flavors that were mentioned in the notes. However, those two flavors made this drink a little too sweet for my taste. While I’m glad I branched out and tried this, and I will finish the bottle, it will not be bought again.

I had a 1oz pour of this at a family members house during Easter dinner. The odd shaped glass I used really pushed the alcohol scent right into my nose, and it burnt a little. After my first sip I moved the glass and the scent was much more of a traditional bourbon smell. The taste was a little sweeter than the four grain bourbon, even though this was a higher proof. I believe that the corn heavy mash contributed to the sweeter taste. I would definitely like to have another taste of this the next time I am around that house.

I have multiple Dancing Pines products in my liquor cabinet, and enjoyed my trip to the Breckenridge Tasting Room. However, this will not be a product I buy. The bite is harsh right of the bat, and the oaky, vanilla, caramel flavors you expect with a bourbon just never show up.

Odd drink. It’s light and not very harsh, but there is a weird orange taste to it. This is very sweet, as well.

A little harsh, but not any harsher than the white label Evan Williams. I think I prefer the black label out of all three of these, though. There are some hints of vanilla and caramel, but not much of either. I paid $15.99 for a 1.75 liter bottle, so an okay bottle to keep around the bar.

I thought the vanilla flavor of this was much better than the bonded white label. I will buy this again, especially at $12 per bottle
