Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 7, 2018 (edited March 31, 2018)Not bad. Not a ton of flavor, and a little warm and needs some ice in the glass, but at $14 per bottle I would buy it again Edit- this is $22 per 1.75 liter at my favorite liquor store, which is $3 cheaper than black label. I prefer the black label, but I like the cheaper price of the white label -
My first time with this whiskey. I had heard good things about it, but I don’t think this lived up to the hype. It’s not bad, and I loved paying $15 for a 750ml bottle, but I wouldn’t seek it out again. It was very sweet, almost too sweet. I then added some ice, which mellowed out the sweetness, but then I got a chemical smell

Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey (Discontinued)
American Single Malt — Colorado, USA
Reviewed February 15, 2018Did the distillery tour multiple times. Always enjoyed the drams available at the end of the tour. Each time, the whiskey has tasted different, since it was always from a different batch. However, there wasn't a single time I regretted the drink, as all of the batches tasted were enjoyable. -
I had the Colorado Crown Club, in a fancy Colorado flag bag. It is the same whisky as this, just re-branded to the state it is sold in. There are several states that have this treatment. You are mostly buying the packaging. The whisky itself was nothing to write home about. It had a gasoline smell when poured, but was decently smooth when chilled. I like the bag, and it was worth a try, but I wouldn't buy it again.

TINCUP American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Colorado), USA
Reviewed February 15, 2018 (edited September 10, 2019)I buy this over and over again. There are whiskies that I sit and ponder over, and then there is this one. I get home from work, put three ice cubes and two fingers worth into a rocks glass and can mindlessly sip it while I complete the evening's chores. -
Appleton Estate Signature Blend Rum
Gold Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed February 15, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)I originally tried the V/X, and enjoyed my entire bottle. When I went looking for a new bottle, I found this, which is just an updated/re-branded V/X. The taste is the same, the enjoyment is the same, and the price is just about the same, too. -
Appleton Estate 21 Year Limited Edition
Aged Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed January 19, 2018 (edited February 28, 2018)I only got to have two glasses of this rum, because I couldn't afford to buy the bottle. However, this is by far the best rum I've ever had. It reminded me of sitting and sipping a smooth bourbon or oaky whiskey. I was given a bottle of the Appleton "Joy" as a gift that I have not tried yet. I am excited to see if that blend can top this blend, which would be hard to do. -
This was pretty rough when tried as a sipper. However, in the multitude of Rum punches we had on vacation, it was the backbone, and they did not taste right without this rum. Edit- I used this in a spiked apple cider and it gave the drink a “bananas foster” taste that was awesome. I also used it in an aged spiked eggnog, and it was fantastic. Still not good on it’s own, but it shines in a mixed drink
