Tastes

Excellent stuff. Much more alpine in character than i was expecting with a huge minty presence, but also very balanced with nice orange peel and a hit of sweet cola nut. Bitter finish but not bracingly so and a warming alcohol presence.

It's fine, but not quite what i was expecting. Has a nice quinine presence but is overwhelmingly red vermouth-y with a slight almost balsamic presence. I was expecting something lighter and fruitier (like Cocchi Americano, which I much prefer).

Unpleasantly bitter. I am not an amaro novice and i like intense and bitter flavours, but this one just has a brutally harsh aftertaste without any nuance. It was a huge disappointment. It is amazing how long the flavour lingers on the tongue; I wish that some of the better tasting amari had this kind of sticking power. As I drink it more I am getting definite radicchio notes.

Beautiful orange citrus character. Sweet upfront but with some nice balancing herbal bitterness on the back end.

Classic alpine amaro. Prominently minty, but not overbearingly so. Quite sweet upfront but with a balanced herbal bitter finish.

Multi-layered. Great herbal bitterness on the backend following some flat cola sweetness upfront. Classic amaro.

Still absolutely love this one. Next to the oversweet Nardini Virtu di Rabarbaro, this one finally shows some smoky depth. But most of all, it is a rhubarb bomb with appropriate bitterness in the finish.

Great aroma of rhubarb. I enjoyed the first sips, but then the sweetness became overwhelming in this one. As a rabarbaro fan, I like it by default. But it is too sweet to be elite.
