    My go-to value mezcal. The nose is pure burnt rubber and some of that translates to the palate. But the taste is much more nuanced with a delicious smoke and tobacco ash edge in the finish that really hits the spot.

    It's fine. Very clean joven mezcal with some vegetal notes upfront and a hint of burnt rubber / smoke on the back-end. A bit tame for what I seek in a mezcal but not bad. Disappointing given it's price point.

    Lovely smoke on the nose, but disappointingly underwhelming in terms of smoke presence on the palate. The subdued smoke is really my only complaint, otherwise this amaro combines some of my favourite herbs - rhubarb, gentian, cinchona and wormwood. Beautiful rhurbarb notes are at the forefront and there is an underlying fruitiness and almost chocolate character. A favourite.

    Not as good as I was hoping. Some nice nutty flavours upfront, but the base rye is a cheap one and there is some stale cardboard on the finish. Drinkable straight but should be fun in cocktails (which was the reason that I grabbed bottle).

    A richer and more robust version of Weller Special Reserve. Delicious caramel base vanilla base. There is some alcohol heat from the high proof but it is not harsh at all. Smooth heater.

    Can't say that I enjoy this one. Very thick consistency (which is fine) and a strange herbal profile. I was expecting more of an alpine amaro, but it is just a weird vegetal taste. It reminds me of when I was younger and thought all amari tasted medicinal and bad. I have acquired a taste for almost all of them, but this one isn't enjoyable.

    Not bad for a free lounge pour, but has some of that cheap corn mash type character seen in cheaper bourbons. Lacking the vanilla subtly of higher end bottles.

    Very pungent. Reminds me most of Bombay Sapphire - it has that definite citrus/coriander presence.

    Not a huge fan if I am being honest. Has an unpleasant grain alcohol base. Canada has a long way to go in term so catching up to the US for rye quality.
