Tomatin 14 Year Port Casks
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 7, 2019 (edited November 22, 2019)Nose: fruity and sweet aromas. The 46 ABV is not knocking off the nose. Smells like Vino santo (though way less sugar) and Christmas flavours. First sip is strong and it is the contrary of the smells that were really light. Now we feel the 46ABV. Liquor, dried fruits and dry feeling on the end of the tongue. Later tastes with water. The smell gets a bit more salty. However it is still very strong and dries the back of the tongue. Nuts and golden syrup tastes come to finish. Complete and strong whisky for beginners -
Excellent not heavy whisky. The smell is very light and quite fruity. The taste is very light (a must for persons who start whisky). The ex-wine barrel adds a soft touch and makes it a bit oily and round. Vanilla and grapefruit taste are predominants as well as a bit of cinnamon. Sweet and lovely980.0 EUR per Shot

Quite surprising whisky. This is my first Japanese tasting. Very light and pale colour (is it really matured in a sherry cask????). At the nose from the bottle, one can smell violet and alcohol. And also very light (hidden)smells of fresh citrus fruits and apples. Vanilla and oak smells are also a bit present but easier to catch. Pouring it into a glass makes this smell vanish a bit. At the fist taste it is very spicy and peppery and an incredibly round and oily (creamy even) sensation take on your tongue which is a good and interesting contrast with the first flavours. Later the whisky gets less spicy and easier to drink. At this stage one can taste apple and fruity taste. Adding water drops helps it to get even less spicy but also less creamy (which is a shame). We can taste the violet syrup at this time along with light cacao. I don't usually drink blended whisky (it might be only my third or fourth one), and as I said it is the first Japanese. But this was a very nice experience and I'd be happy to do it again. If you can try it, don't hesitate!

Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed May 8, 2019 (edited June 15, 2019)A lot of fruits mixed looks like a complex whisky. Hidden notes of cherry and red fruits but citrus are predominants. Not smoky at all. Palate: surprising, the Sherry Cask adds it's very very high flavors. Strong but not spicy. Blackberries. Adding water lets taste nuts' notes. Finish of grapes. Vanilla notes also pops to the nose with water. Finish peppery even if note the most present flavor on the mouth with tanin428.0 GBP per Shot -
Benromach Château Cissac Bordeaux Wood Finish 2010
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed May 8, 2019 (edited September 11, 2022)Very sweet and nice smell, liquor, honey, fruity (plum). Grape and oak lightly smoky and citrus fruits. Tanin notes quite present at the taste. Peppered finish, oily and honey. Citrus notes last until the final drop. The whisky is very sweet so the 45% ABV knocks after when not being careful. Still very good.293.0 GBP per Shot
