This “bourbon” is not bourbon. I get so many conflicting flavors that I’m not sure what im drinking. In all honesty, if the bottle hadn’t been $60+, I would have dumped it. It’s not a good sipper and not a good mixer. The whisky is in opposition to itself. I want to quote Princess Bride and tell everyone to “have fun stormin’ the castle.” But you won’t.

Calumet Farm Small Batch Bourbon (15 Year & 8 Year Blend)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 31, 2023 (edited September 9, 2023)Super average. I paid $60 for this and have had many sub $40 bottles that were as good or better. Don’t get me wrong, this was pleasant enough, just not worth the elevated price tag.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Lagavulin Offerman Edition Charred Oak Cask
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed October 16, 2022 (edited November 2, 2022)This is a solid offering. It suffers from being boring and having had high expectations set by last season’s Offerman Edition. It’s good, but the 16yr old is better.82.0 USD per Bottle -
This was an outstanding surprise! My wife brought this back for me from a trip to Brooklyn (much better than a t-shirt). Contrary to the expert review, the bottle I have says that it was aged for 839 days. I get much more of corn/bourbon taste than I do the rye. I get the rye/spice notes on the back end. Damn good whiskey to my palate.

Good but not $57 a bottle good. It’s a four grain mashbill and has about 10% wheat in it, which some will like. Not my favorite but it adds some spiciness. The bourbon is 95 proof, so a bit hot but not overly so. It opens up and becomes more nuanced with a rock. There are better options for the money.57.0 USD per Bottle
