EH Taylor is a premier bourbon name. This takes the brand to hold its name. Nose: Its very smooth and citrusy on the smell. I like the candy taste that ccomes with it. Front: its a but oily, yet it smooths out super fast to bring open the nose flavor. Middle: The middle opens up some rye spice and keeps a piece of the smoothe notes of the front. The oils do come over and dillute the flavor a little. Finish: The rye souce opens up more. It ends a little bitter but the citrus comes out, which I appreciate. I aopreciate this very much. Its a staple of bourbon that I do enjoy, and will rotate around EH Taylor a whole lot more because of this Bottle In Bond.

Jacob Waltz Arizona Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — Phoenix Arizona, USA
Reviewed September 15, 2024 (edited September 16, 2024)I travel to Arizona a lot, and every time will go to Santan Distillery to do their tour and try their whisky. Its nice to outsiders to the bourbon field to make a name for themselves in the Kentucky tradition. Nose: I get a smooth oaky smell like a deep burning forest at a char level of 3. There are some notes of vanilla as well, adding to a balance start. Front: A light floral front and a spice to it too. Not much else to say. Finish: It ends with a dark fruit finish, and a rye finish. I think this Bottle in Bond has a different flavor to it. You’d expect a heavier punch with a 50% bottle, but this has a cleaner taste with a higher proof, and remains clean with that higher proof. 7.5/1050.0 USD per BottleKenwood Towne Centre -
So, the thing about more famous bourbons is that i do not want to join the hype. I like smaller names, but this is worth the name. On the nose, it is spice forward which I enjoy. The high percentage at 61% does make it more of an extra punch. It is smooth, and the rye makes it potent. The front is smooth, with such a cinnamon heavy presence to boot. I like it but it is the not going to prepare you for everything else. Middle: the spice comes straight with heat. It is not the most pleasant thing after that smooth front end. Finish: it ends smooth, it ends spicy, it ends mostly smooth with a braodly hot and spicy texture that brings the hot notes all together without it being rough. I feel like my review does not do it justice, but I truly believe this is simple and great. The middle is not my favorite, but the front and end make up for it.

From what the bartender told me, this is a 6 month aged blended malt whiskey. This is their first roll out of whisky before releasing a wheated whisky. Its young and blended which doesnt mean its without good notes. On the nose, its light with high vegetal and mild fruity notes. Very pleasant Front opens up, but with a soft bitterness adding to the flavor. This does dull my liking from the rest of the fruity flavor that is present. In the back, I do get a mild char/smoky taste. **Bartender said it was a Char 3 barrel** The biters disappear, and the fruity notes remain in tact. I sipped this neat this review, but I would probably chill it over marble rocks, or kust use it as a mixer. Its not bad, but its got potential. Just need to spread the word.30.0 USD per BottleBrick Box Brewery

If heaven is real, the devil’s cut cannot touch this over how difficult the taste is able to compare to. Our ancient ancestors did not know what to do when they were making words because nothing can really comprehend this bottle within the totality of human vernacular. This isn’t Scotch, this is magic. On the nose, I get vanilla and sweetness. Its very subtle but somehow potent. The front has an apple note with a texture so silky and so smooth like water, alcohol doesn’t really come out here. It might as well be the 8th wonder of the world. In the middle, it brings a potent honey and vanilla pallate that gives me a come to Jesus moment. Its truly smooth To finish, while it does gain strength, it ends with an experience reminiscent of a euphoria that only comes through psychoactive experiences. In the words of Kevin Boggs, “I feel like I just smoked a nice joint and had a euphoric high.”200.0 USD per Bottle

Buzzard's Roost Smoked Barrel Straight Rye
Rye — Indiana (finished in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed April 28, 2024As a rye, you are AWARE of the spice…. For sure, its there, but let us break down the complexity within this straight rye. Nose to taste, it presents an array of flavor that exhibits a bright forward profile while the spice somehow mulls it to a mellow complexity. What I like is that it brings a corn sorta sweetness in the middle. Right in between is a note similar to apple and other citruses will nestle between that corn whiskey transfer. To end, the spice overtakes as it should given it’s a straight rye. That’s to be expected. Anyway, it was a good treat and I enjoy ryes. Not an Ezra 7 year, but a more than average rye whiskey.70.0 USD per Bottle -
1792 Full Proof Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 24, 2024 (edited April 9, 2024)A mere take on the simplicity of heavy rye bourbons. 1792 hits on the original bourbon pallate, with the higher proof adding that much more of a punch. Nose: Very spice forward, holds strong from front to end with keeping its consistency in notes. The front holds the wildest smooth start. Which is weird, because it finishes so hard on the rye spice. The middle, like the nose, keeps very consistent. It holds the flavor so well. I got light notes of big red chewing gum and even ligther fruity notes with a hint of vanilla. Conclusion: A good bourbon that holds its name high. 1792 can take pride in this full proof variant because it keeps the traditional bourbon flavor with the rye to boot. I’m biased for a complex but traditional glass, and this holds true to my liking.60.0 USD per Bottle
