Four Roses Limited Edition Single Barrel Bourbon (2014)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 10, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)The whiskey lives up to a full and rich taste as described. I didn't get the spice on the front, but feel the fruit came in first followed by the warmth of of spices and salty caramel. It lingers with warm notes and eases out for a nice finish. -
George Dickel No. 12
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 1, 2015 (edited July 17, 2015)This a smooth flowing whiskey that brings sweet flavors to the forefront. Vanilla pudding and a sweeter than normal oak flavor really step out. For the price it is a whiskey worth drinking. Side note: cut this with ice and it really drives the sweet flavors and brings out oak, walnut and barrel char. -
Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 10, 2014 (edited March 4, 2015)My bottle was barreled in 2004, which I think has done this whiskey very well. The bourbon is smooth as glass to drink with a nice flavor of fruits and nuts. The flavor is full, but even across the drink. It finished with a nice sweet note of fruits to finish. This is a staple for any bourbon goer. -
This is by no means a great whiskey, but for me it is my guilty pleasure. In my world of bars with piss poor whiskey selections, this is and always will be my go to. It is young, light on flavor and just nothing much to brag about. I think Rob wrote a good review when he said it is sweet, fruity and very short flavored.

Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 5, 2014 (edited January 8, 2015)My first tastes were a little rough but it smoothed out as it progressed. The bourbon tastes as though it got drug through an orchard, tons of fruit flavors like apples and cherries. Spice brings in some heat and really rounds out an excellent bourbon. I would put this on the shelf any time I could find it. -
Macallan 18 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 1, 2014 (edited April 18, 2017)This is a scotch worth drinking, flat out amazing. It is smooth, flavors of fruits are full and rich. The flavors last on your tongue but are not in any way detracting from the experience. This is a whiskey that displays 18 years like a professional. -
Russell's Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 29, 2014 (edited April 24, 2018)Very stuff on the tongue with bold flavors of oak and leather. It takes a little getting used to at first but sips better as the glass goes on. I would say 92 is a little generous and won't earn a place in my cabinet soon. -
Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 23, 2014 (edited July 17, 2015)My first thought, "Wow, that's complex. There's like five things going on in my mouth right now." At first taste you catch a lot of the sweet undertones you'd expect from Kentucky bourbon country. The spice comes in mid-chew and opens up the flavor profile quite a bit. I feel like the dryness resembles an Irish whiskey, which I'm not a huge fan of. This whiskey is really good but I almost feel overly complex which takes away from it.
