Tastes

This is excellent, with a nice complexity and a good nose as well as taste. It makes for a great supper and you’d never guess it was a 110 proof. Having said that, I would have given it a higher score, but the finish is so smooth as to be almost nonexistent.

It starts out hot, lots of alcohol on the nose. But once you let it breathe, the sweetness emerges. I preferred the Bourbon Batch 5 to this single barrel #47, but still glad I got a bottle and looking forward to seeing how it evolves once it has been open a while.

I like this a lot. Does not compare to the 2013 Port Wood Cairdeas, but is superior to the Brodir and the international traveler Port Wood that I found in Germany in January just before Covid shut down all my travels. The color is beautiful, the nose is amazing, and the taste is very good.

It’s good, but at $49 there are better choices out there. I do appreciate the transparency in terms of each bottle’s label (mine was 7 years 0 months)

Agree with many of the other tasting notes. However, it’s a little spicier and hotter than I prefer. Don’t know that I’d buy this one again.
