Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 3, 2016 (edited November 16, 2018)Plenty of sugary vanilla on the nose and in the taste. A little sweet vanilla with a nice bit of rye spice. The finish echoes the vanilla and rye, with just a touch of burn. -
Oban 14 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 27, 2015 (edited December 30, 2017)Definitely sweet, like it came from a sherry cask. A light touch of peat which doesn't come near the sweetness. A nice drink, very approachable, but highly overrated and a bit expensive for what it is. -
Lagavulin 16 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 20, 2014 (edited December 30, 2017)So very smooth. Nicely peated with a little smoke, but definitely not overpowering. A little spiciness and sweetness on the finish. Wonderful, and not too expensive. -
Balvenie Doublewood 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 21, 2014 (edited December 30, 2017)I was hoping for better. A little honey aroma, but generally tough to distinguish. Has a nice woody spiciness and just a little sweet sherry. A nice drink, but not special.
