Knob Creek 12 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 18, 2021 (edited January 6, 2022)Nose: rich and thick. Some vanilla and spice, but nothing overpowering. Palette: some wood notes and a pleasant and sustained bitterness. The word that comes to mind is “wide”… it just feels very oily and rich. Definitely spicy to rival some Ryes. Finish: really great long and consistent finish. Same wood and dark fruit notes (maybe)… it taste like the difference between a bright red maraschino cherry and a luxardo cherry… just more subtle, bitter and full. -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 30, 2021 (edited November 5, 2021)Ordered a neat pour at a local tavern (so food and water is involved throughout). The nose is sweet vanilla. The palette is spicy and warm. Lots of rye and heat, but not too priory. Long warm finish with the same flavors. Really solid! -
Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 22, 2021 (edited November 12, 2021)Drinking on a big cube… it’s just soooo delicious. Stands up to the ice and just mellows everything out… but in a good way.
