Tastes

Caveat: I’m a bourbon guy… Palette: gentle smoke and smoothness. Finish: smooth and easy. Good flavor, that doesn’t light you up.

Nose: rich and thick. Some vanilla and spice, but nothing overpowering. Palette: some wood notes and a pleasant and sustained bitterness. The word that comes to mind is “wide”… it just feels very oily and rich. Definitely spicy to rival some Ryes. Finish: really great long and consistent finish. Same wood and dark fruit notes (maybe)… it taste like the difference between a bright red maraschino cherry and a luxardo cherry… just more subtle, bitter and full.

Faint apples and cinnamon on the nose… pleasant and not too strong. Palette had more apple and cinnamon and spices… tasted like Christmas bourbon. Short finish, but plenty good for a sipper.

Classic bourbon notes. Amazingly approachable 10yr. Just a great sipper!

Nose is vanilla and sweetness. Palette is berries and a bit of shortbread. Finishes with some spice and mild heat. Really enjoy this one as a starter.

Slight cider smell on the nose, but otherwise really mild. The palette is a lot brighter with wood and some smoke. Finish is more of same that fades medium length. Woodier than I like, so not my favorite.

Very little on the nose… some mild sweetness (maybe vanilla). Palate is sweet and then spicy. Finish is pretty long considering the mildness of the rest. Spice notes at the end with a good full mouth warmth.

Vanilla on the nose. Pretty much standard bourbon notes. Palette is blink and you miss it. A little bit of spice that doesn’t stick around. Finish is standard bourbon… nothing special.

Ordered a neat pour at a local tavern (so food and water is involved throughout). The nose is sweet vanilla. The palette is spicy and warm. Lots of rye and heat, but not too priory. Long warm finish with the same flavors. Really solid!

Drinking on a big cube… it’s just soooo delicious. Stands up to the ice and just mellows everything out… but in a good way.
