Tastes

Orange peels and malt on the nose with some vanilla. Smooth caramel, vanilla and lemon peel on the palate. The finish is peppery. Lots of good smells and flavors especially at this price range. It would probably be good in an Old Fashioned.

Dried fruits and nuts on the nose. The palate is dried oranges and a hint of chocolate. The finish is short, but peppery. At this price point I’m extremely surprised at its high quality. On the second sip, the nose really opens up with chocolate and vanilla which carries through to the palate.

Smoke and...apple cider vinegar behind it on the nose? Palate is sweet and salt taffy with a creamy mouth feel that gives away to the smoke. Finish is bonfires and hot dogs with roasted marshmallows. Yummy! I ought to buy more of this! Basically a whiskey to go camping with.

Strong raisins and toffee on the nose. Then a solid spice of gingerbread, cinnamon, and sweet heat with a smooth creamy mouthfeel from the high proof. A surprisingly smooth finish. On second sip, the whiskey’s character changes. It becomes sweeter and a bit more like bourbon.

Jam and fruits on the nose. Red licorice and mango on the palate. A little pepper and chocolate in the finish.

Vanilla and Pear on the nose. Sweet grapes, almost like a dessert wine, on the palate. A spicy and slightly smokey finish.

Smells of mint and pepper. Warm caramel and sugars in the mouth. A lingering of pepper and vanilla.

Smokey, but also smooth and sweet. Flavors of sherry... almost rum like.

I love the peat and vanilla. The high proof adds a wonderful mouthfeel and flavors of caramel.
