Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed December 20, 2019 (edited January 1, 2020)Vanilla, sugary notes with a little bit of Chinese violet right in the center. You also notice wood's lignin, tannin and that slight dry bitterness or spices are on the side with lemon zest sprinkle on top. Smooth sugary notes flow right through the palate in the middle lane while dry fruit and lemon company on the side. Then you feel spices, dry and bitterness hit you like a tsunami from behind for the first time. After that you will get use to it. Medium to short finish with the rind of an orange. Overall, not a bad whisky. I like the use of Rum cask instead of ex-bourbon cask here which delivery different kind of sweetness to your palate. Bourbon sugary flavour notes are there throughout the whole session. Slight bitterness, earthy and spicy notes from the American oak are on the palate and fresh lemon squeeze with lemon skin are with you to the end. -
Glen Moray Elgin Classic Sherry Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 25, 2019 (edited December 26, 2019)Medium sherry note with strong hint of ex bourbon cask spiciness on the palate and that carries on with your normal sherry note floating in the background. I find the wood bitterness seems to be carrying on for a bit in your month, taste most likely be charred American oak. I would actually recommend port version then this one. -
Clean light citrus, vanilla, almost like bourbon sugary notes but not exactly. There is a hint of oak bitterness or maybe it's the grain in the background. Very light and gentle sugary smooth flowing in after you take a sip along and the oak or grain slight bitterness. Also lemon, orange skin. Overall a clean light beautiful Japanese wiskey.

Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 16, 2019 (edited March 4, 2020)You will get those dried fruit such as raisins on your noses but not deep nor heavy with a hint of sugary notes always imprint in the background. Oak spicy notes are also there in and out. Very nice and smooth sherry notes goes right in your month. Then suddenly it sort of evaporate on your tongue while high alcohol kicks in along with wood spicy notes dancing on your tongue. A beautiful example of cask strength whisky. -
On the nose, Glenfarclas has an unique beautiful floral smell and you know it just by smelling it. Beyond that you get your normal sugary notes but light sugary not heavy with a little bit of lemon zest. Very friendly and welcoming sweetness on the palate while lemon zest tingle your senses now and then. In the end it's just as if you chew on the white part of the orange that bitterness.
