Tastes

Nose: sherry, floral honey, apple, apple cider vinegar. Taste: strong oak, dark fruit jam, cocoa

Nose: syrup sweetness, green wood, vanilla, a little dusty corn. Taste: quickly notice the buttery oily mouthfeel. Creamy brown sugar raisin. Finishes with dry tannins and pecan shell that lingers a bit too long. Would have scored higher except for that tannin fuzzy tongue feel that lasts too long.

Nose: honey and peach and orange marmalade. Tase is the same with just a touch of ferment funk. Rich and sweet.

Nose is light peat and apple cider vinegar. Taste is cinnamon and peat. Light sweetness.

At first the nose is sweet nail polish or nail polish remover. The taste is hot cinnamon and alcohol. Once your sinuses and tongue have been sufficiently charred and anesthetized then the second nose and taste reveals oak, maple syrup spices and the usual delicious bourbon flavors. It leaves a singe in the throat and burn on the tongue long after the swallow. I would have scored it higher had it been a lower proof. The flavors are fantastic. The problem is it’s trying to punish me with every swallow. Yes, there can be too much of a good thing.

Strong peat smoke and rubber makes me feel like I just walked into a Harbor Freight. Then its followed up with over ripe banana and berries. I didn’t know Harbor Freight sold fruit! The peat hits you first as you taste, followed by spices and alcohol showing your sinus whose the boss. Tannin dryness bites the back of your tongue. Its complex and a little rough. Just like you like it. Thats what she said.
