Maker's Mark Private Selection Queen City OHLQ All Star Collection
Bourbon — Loretto KY, USA
Reviewed March 6, 2022fruity, citrus nose also some oak and vanilla. Very smooth mouth feel, rich and oily, banana hearty oak and vanilla. Flash of spice and burn on the finish that goes away fairly quick. Nice hearty pour with a few different levels. Not a blow your doors off but solid pour, definitely willing to try a few other private selections. -
Coopers' Craft Barrel Reserve 100 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 26, 2022 (edited June 24, 2022)lots of vanilla on the nose. Very fruity on palate, oak and come char. No real burn on the finish, some light spice then more fruit after. A very flavorful pour that punches above it's price point. Solid all around. -
Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 23, 2022 (edited March 18, 2022)On in the nose: heavy pine and floral aromas. Cinnamon on the palate along with light vanilla, spicy and rich with heavy rye, not overly oily or hot Hearty burn from the 108 proof that receeds quicky to sweetness on the finish. Not the most drinkable rye and not terribly balanced but a high level of complexity that keeps you thinking. I'm glad I snagged a bottle when able but not purturbed it's not readily available at all times. -
High vanilla nose, pine, cherries or maybe green apple. Rye in the palate but quite understated, sweetness underneath an oily mouth feel Very uninspired finish, little burn and basically no head from the alcohol. The interesting nose doesn't deliver through the rest of the sip. Overall pleasent enough but far from a traditional rye, likely won't be getting again.

Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 19, 2022 (edited January 29, 2022)molasis and cherries on the nose plus some leather and some floral aromas. Leather and oak prevalent on the smoky palate, oily and rich but not terribly sweet which belies the nose. Pleasent balance of heat and spice on the finish with very light ethonol that dissipates nicely. If the proof shows up it's very late. I didn't get the fruits or nutmeg noted on the review on this app. Another rock solid expression from OF, not my favorite of theirs but absolutely an above average pour. I look forward to doing a flight of the 1870, 1897, 1910 and 1920 -
Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 15, 2021 (edited December 22, 2021)Some caramel and spice plus leather on the nose. Hearty oak on the a light sweetness but not a lot of depth on the palate. Harsh early burn on the finish that receeds swiftly, ethonol, alcohol and spices in the finish. Pretty basic pour, definitely worth having around for a mixture especially with it being a good value. -
Really thin on the nose, some oak, maybe apricot but not a lot else. Leather, oak and some spice on the palate. Smooth finish gives way to a spicy aftertaste. This doesn't stand out much at all but is very shippable and has decent value. Lacks complexity or uniqueness so for me the 87 score this app provided is too high
