cherry, banana, light oak and pine on the nose. Vanilla, aggressive sweetness and syrup on the palate. Finish brings the oak on a bit more as well as a hint of cinnamon. Quite rich & oily. Exceptionally smooth with zero burn thanks to the low proof, perhaps because of this it lacks any amount of complexity on the backend. An average pour maybe best suited for mixing.

Very sweet with maybe caramel and maple syrup, a very light hint of spices on the nose. The rich sweetness somes through immediately on the palate, forceful but not overwhelming, a very rich and very full bodied sip. Hint of burn on finish that receeds quickly leaving a bit of a pine and apple aftertaste. My perception is that this is regarded as the best widely available bourbon out there at the reputation is deserved. Flavors are balanced so nicely it's hard to enjoy only one pour!

Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 14, 2021 (edited December 5, 2021)understand richness, earthy scents, some pine maybe on the nose. Some spice a little ethonol, cinnamon, and have oak on the palate. Heavy spice finish but overall quite smooth also cherries, and sugars. A very solid pour but a little overhyped in my opinion, pretty good value though. -
Woody pine, cherries, and maple on the nose, a really fine scent. Leather, oak and more maple on the palate. Somewhat thin flavoring for a higher price and proof bottle. Sweet syrup on the finish not smooth but relatively low burn for a 101 proof. Nice bottle but, the fine nose belies a fairly average taste. I think it's better than standard Maker's but not by a lot.

Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 11, 2021sweetness with overpowering caramel or maybe maple on the nose, a light hint of the alcohol comes through along with banana and vanilla. Very light on the palate, oily, rich and syrupy with some oak. Very smooth finish with a just hint of burn at the very end. A fine sip for sure but for the price there may be some better options and if you're a high proof fan, definitely look elsewhere. -
light caramel and pine plus cinnamon on the nose Woody pine & vanilla on the palate. Hearty burn on finish though it diminishes swiftly leaving caramel and green apple flavor behind. Somewhat refreshing generally, not a lot of richness and a bit thin for a single barrel offering. I was hoping for more from JB and have to greatly disagree with the review on this app

Bulleit Rye

Reviewed September 23, 2021 (edited September 27, 2021)Ethanol and rye scents on the nose Get the alcohol on the palate despite the relatively mild abv, high cinnamon, spice and ceder. Rich, slice on the finish with a hint of sweetness and some vanilla. Some complexity to the flavors but a little thin for me. For the price there are far better ryes available but the cinnamon bomb overpowers this taste. -
Bernheim 7 Year Original Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 23, 2021 (edited January 14, 2022)pine and heavy vanilla and some light cherry on the nose. Caramel apple, leather & hint of cinnamon on the palate. Light ethonol on the finish gentle burn and spicy finish. Very average pour but a decent value. No real benefit seemingly to the 7 year age statement -
Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 9, 2021 (edited January 28, 2022)Heavy dose of caramel and vanilla on the nose, some hint of floral scents also a really understates but pleasent fragrance. Incredibly smoothe on the palate with the vanilla again, oily with virtually no spice some pine and leather as well. Early burn on the finish that gives way to a sweet molasis aftertaste. As I sipped this taste I noticed a different level almost each sip, I find this to be a very solid blend of complexity and flavor without the hearty burn of a higher proof bourbon. The 82 rating given on this app is a huge miss and it appears the community agrees with me.
