overpowering vanilla on the nose giving way to some caramel... some pine and leather on the palate plus some spiciness... Brief alcohol burn on finish with ethonol and late spice that sticks around. Lacks the sweetness and floral flavors of some rye, not a particularly complex flavor despite interesting effort in mixing rye. Took a few sips to really get the spiciness going. Very average.

Weller Antique 107 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 3, 2021 (edited September 17, 2021)Vanilla, leather, some cherry and apple, and alcohol on the nose, pleasent and not overpowering with any of the elements... alcohol burn on the palate, hint of banana, oaky char, spices... A profound but not painful or unpleasant burn on the finish from the proof which sticks around well past the sip, really expertly balanced to give the fire but not overpower... Lots of sweetness throughout. This bottle absolutely lives up to the hype -
Old Forester 1897 Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 28, 2021 (edited September 14, 2021)light vanilla and apple on the nose, the alcohol is brought out on the nose as well but not a lot of aroma in this pour. Green apple, leather and spice on the palate. Some caramel and some tart. Powerful richness comes out only on the finish for me where this pour shines. Pretty smooth finish overall with a little heat later. A high quality bottle with complex flavors, worth the price on special occasions. -
Heavy oak on the nose for obvious reasons along with a hint of strawberry, green apple and vanilla. The green apple and vanilla come through on the palate as well, a little oily... A gentle spice on the finish but not overpowering, a very syrupy sweet and rich finish sticks around after and is a nice after flavor. I'd be very curious how much time it spends in each barrel and how long it is aged overall, neither of which is described in the bottle. Found out 4 years in one barrell via Google. I think the 82 rating given by distiller is brutal especially considering the value in a $22 bottle!

Caramel, molasses, vanilla on the nose. Incredibly smoothe on the palate with strawberries, green apple, light spice, very rich flavors. Nice clean finish with some woody flavors that sticks around but doesn't overstay it's welcome. As a person who doesn't gravitate to higher proof, this is a bottle I'll be pick up again.

light spice, fruit and rich aromas of vanilla on the nose. More vanilla on the palate along with some heat and caramel apple. Oakey finish, that doesn't stick around too long or provide a lot of heat afterward. Decently oily, the richness of the flavor comes in the finish. A fine dram as they say, slightly below average perhaps and nowhere near the traditional heavy hitters. At the price a decently complex flavor but I won't be rushing out for another bottle

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 7, 2021 (edited July 11, 2021)powerful floral and fruity aromas on the nose including cherry, very rich scents. Peanut flavoring, that gives way to oily hints of caramel and pecan with a little banana. Somewhat harsh finish but the heat doesn't stick around instead leaving a lasting oak flavor. There's more to this sip than I was able to identify and in the 2-3 sips I took to write this, I found each to be slightly different. Really nice bottle, in the upper echelon for me. -
Pine, vanilla, and nutmeg on the nose, not a lot going on besides sweetness on the palate. Cocoa or chocolate finish with some caramel, very low burn, no surprise at 87 proof. Fine enough, and pretty curious that it's intent is to show off how blending can be successful, but I don't think I'll be buying this again.

I had a hard time identifying the nose but it's a lovely rich aroma perhaps honey and Carmel. The palate is a rich sugary smooth flavor, some vanilla, somewhat oily. Rally a fantastic flavoring up front. The proof is overpowering in the finish which unfortunately is what is remembered despite the fantastic palate. Cinnamon and spice on the end. Definitely a fantastic juice but the proof may be too much for my preference. Will have to give it a run with some ice.
