Springbank 12 Year Cask Strength
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed March 6, 2021 (edited October 8, 2021)Nose: vanilla, lemon cream, some light smoke. Palate: sweet and sour pork. Some vanilla and lemon. dry and a little hot on the finish. Update: about 1/2 through the bottle and it’s become a smoked salted caramel apple pie bomb of a whisky. Adding a 1/4 pt from my original score.125.0 USD per Bottle -
Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style

Very sweet nose - honestly, muted smoke and peat, though definitely present. After a sip or two got some sherried vinegar. Palate: candied bacon - smoke and salt. Caramel. Charcoal bbq briquettes. Lots going on. Big and bold. Best with a splash of water, then let sit in the glass for 15 mins.89.99 USD per Bottle

Nose: light brown sugar; a little alcohol burn; nutmeg; Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Palate: like sliced red apples dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Really nice. Long finish with some oak coming into the picture. Dangerously smooth and drinkable. A little water (though not needed) brings out flavors of shortbread cookie dough.79.99 USD per Bottle

Load of sherry on the nose. Some vanilla and a little spice. Rich and creamy palette, but oaky tannins overwhelm the sweet sherry. Balances out more on the finish. Looking forward to trying again after the bottle has time to breathe - will probably improve with a couple of months open.139.99 USD per Bottle
