Tastes

Nose: heavy honey, apple, pear, peaches, faint malt and grape jam notes. Very light hint of pepper. Taste: malt, apple, pear. Slight vanilla cream note that immediately collapses into condensed grape jam. Heavy sweet honey finish with a bit of oak spice. It is better than Glenlivet 12 from my memory. A lot more dense flavor. But tbh it’s probably not worth the price at $50. 40 is probably a better price point. Loses some points because it’s supposed to be a step up from the standard, maybe for more developed palettes and it fails in that job

Nose: caramel, toffee, light sherry, oak, cinnamon Taste: caramel, vanilla, graham cracker, heavy oaky butter finish. Dangerously easy to drink but it’s very simple. Really sweet without a lot of spicy flavors

Nose: fruit cake, clove, cinnamon, faint oak, stewed plums, lemon curd, milk chocolate, pepper Taste: extremely dense fig, heavy pepper finish. Dry and sour. Lemon zest. Light malt. Dense dry walnuts. Orange zest, parsley, baking spices, red wine, graphite, underripe peaches or pear. Water subdues all the fruit notes and brings maple syrup and powdered sugar. Finish is still long and dry with heavy red wine notes,

Nose: burnt popcorn, strawberry jam, clove, walnut. Vanilla, oak, Taste: heavy cherry fades into malt / corn bread. Vanilla/ whipped cream. Powdered sugar. Bourbon and sherry mingle together surprisingly well. Clove, cinnamon, plums.

Nose: allspice baking spices, light grape or figs, malt, oak, blonde roast espresso, heavy port Taste: fruit cake, peach, vanilla, light oak. Finish is dense port wine. Interesting in that it doesn’t overpower the rest of the flavors as port finishes usually do. Dense cherry, white grapes, milk chocolate. Becomes malty and sour when water is added.

Nose: honey, caramel, grapes, cinnamon Taste: creamy corn, light grapes, molasses, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla cream, very slight oak, caster sugar, peanut butter,

Nose: burnt brisket, nectarines, honey, vanilla, a bit of barrel bitter, salt water. Taste: cherry, vanilla, butter, burnt bacon, very sweet tomato, burning hay, marshmallow, black pepper. Finish is almost non existent. Water eliminates almost all the sweet elements and really brings the bacon and burning hay. The finish then elongates into honey and bacon grease.

Nose: vanilla, honey, caramel, lemon, orange, pear, slight cake malt Taste: lemon, very very light peat, pear, apple, cake malt, honey, rosemary, parsley, I feel this gets looked over a lot because its a readily available Japanese whiskey and they let the hype take over. This is no Harmony or a single malt for sure and its a bit young, but it is good, especially for $30 or under. Treat it like a budget highland or speyside scotch rather than some mystical Japanese product and it'll be good
