Nose smells of sawdust with a hint of smoke. Pallete starts with sweet and spicey but yet strangely smooth in the middle with some heat and a burst of spice going down.. I kind of like this one and it may have moved into my top 5. Will definately make this a stock item after I polish this bottle off.27.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

Looks like weak coffee. Nose is earthy with peaty and leather most foward. Sharp start we with a sweet oak with the coffee coming through on the mid palate. The finish holds a ethanol burn with that hint of coffee still coming through. Tastes hotter than the 40 abv might indicate. Overall a interesting twist on a middle road bourbon that I would really like to say was better but ends up being just OK for the price.. one of those bourbons due to packaging you really just want to be better. Not sure i would purchase it again at this point.32.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

Nose is a funky leather smoke. Pallet hot sharp smokey oak. Seems like high char on the barrel. A little ice tames it down and smooths it a bit. Still trying to like this bottle. Has good basics but need more tasting to decide if this makes the cut for me. Not a top shelf keeper yet. Stay tuned....39.0 USD per Bottle

Nose is good with hints of leather and sawdust. Pallete sweet carmel smoke with hint of vanilla and hot spice. Finishes fast with quick burn. Guess this is about a 45% that could use a little more agin. Overall pretty good bourbon just probably could use a little age. I would buy it at the 30ish range. Current price is 45 which is a bit high.45.0 USD per BottleGray Skies Distillery

George Dickel 8 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed September 25, 2023 (edited October 17, 2023)Nice golden brown. Nose is a pleasent bread with sawdust and a hint of leather. Palate sweet and smooth slightly oily with classic carmel and vanilla note. Finishes with a burst of spice and nice burn. This is a very good bourbon for the price. This will become a stock item on my cupboard.31.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose nice smokey with hint of leather. Smooth pallete with hint of sweetness. Has a touch of rye spice hints of carmel and herbs. Finishes smooth with pleasent aftertaste of smokey herbs and touch of carmel. Overall a really nice boubon but probably a bit overpriced in the high 50 range. Would probably put a bottle up just for the unique packaging.

New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Michigan), USA
Reviewed June 26, 2023 (edited June 27, 2023)1.75l $59.00. Nose is mildly woody and malt. Starts quite sweet on pallate with grain forward from the high barley and corn content as well as the extra beer flavor. Heat is there which seems odd as the rye count is quite low and proof is only 80. According to my research mash bill is 70% corn, 25% barley, 5% rye. The grain and beer really come through on mid pallete. Finish carries that burn to back. Is a middle of road sipper for an ok but not great price. Makes a good mixer with traverse city wiskey cherries and will keep it in my bar for those times i want a sweeter sipper.32.0 USD per BottleNew Holland Brewing - The Knickerbocker -
Nose is grainy bread. Starts with a sweet slightly carmel note with just a little bite. Smoke is very subtle with mid pallate being smooth sweetly complex with flavors of vanilla and carmel finishing with just the right amount of bite and heat. This is a good sipping wiskey and kind of reminds me of buffalo trace with a bit lighter note.38.0 USD per BottleTown Branch Distillery
