The Steward's Solera Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana, USA
Reviewed August 8, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)Had a glass last night, the burn diminished quickly to release a good amount of smoke and Caramel flavor. There was a hint of floral on the back end and finished clean. Each sip after revealed more fruit and subtle sweetness that made it palatable and left me wanting more. This is definitely one to pick up. -
Bickering Brothers Blended Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — South Dakota, USA
Reviewed July 31, 2016A beer deceiving whiskey that requires more than a sip. After a tumbler, I'm ready to order a case. A big burn on the front end but the finish is worth the wait. Heavy on caramel and smoke flavors, finishes surprisingly clean and leaves you wanting more. Must pick up especially at the price point. -
For the price point, this is a very good whiskey. The batches are small, made with all Colorado ingredients, and then aged until it gets a beautiful amber color and mellows leaving only a hint of a burn. Rich caramel flavor mixes well with the charred oak and a sweetness that is noticeable but not as cloying as you may expect from a corn whiskey. Mixes well but is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water.
