Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed March 19, 2016 (edited August 24, 2016)Finally got around to picking up a bottle of this yesterday. At $65 in Australia it's priced just under Ardbeg 10 And similar to Arbelour 12. Taste wise I find it a lot less peaty than Ardbeg, and it's nicely balanced and smooth, nice with a tiny drop of water. I must say it's a wonderful whiskey to enjoy on a cold evening and a good basic whiskey to base your bar on. -
Dunedin Doublewood 10 Year
Single Grain — South Island, New Zealand
Reviewed January 1, 2016 (edited January 7, 2016)Very different whisky. It's like drinking a Xmas pudding, lots of flavours from the wood and not much else. Great with desserts. -
Laphroaig Quarter Cask
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 27, 2015 (edited December 21, 2015)I once read that sipping this dram, is like sitting by a campfire, in peat bog which is on fire, whilst you suck on a stick of charred oak. That is not far from the smoke level this whiskey offers, but the wood comes through and it's a fine drop on a cold winters evening whilst watching Game of Thrones.
