Glenfiddich 15 Year Solera Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 22, 2020 (edited November 23, 2020)Ethanol on the nose but calms down after some time in the glass. Palate is standard Speyside - sweet honey, lots of malt, and apples for me. Finish is fine. Maybe too easy with no bite. -
Springbank 15 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed October 12, 2020 (edited October 28, 2020)Butterscotch and honey on the nose. Similar on the palate plus maybe some apples. Long finish that brings a bit of briny peat smoke. Very good. A lovely Fathers Day gift from my lovely wife. -
Ron Zacapa 23 Sistema Solera Rum
Aged Rum — Guatemala
Reviewed September 12, 2020 (edited September 27, 2020)Sweet and easy drinking. A little goes a long way. Really nice sipping this while watching the river go by. -
Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 15, 2020 (edited August 27, 2020)I really really wanted to like this. And it’s ok, but just way too sweet. Reminds me of the Tullamore D.E.W. rum cask finish. Nose is subtle but on the palate the rum is so forward. If you like really sweet whisky this might be for you. -
