This drinks a little hot for the proof point. It also has a young note that is very prominent. Honestly, I’m a little bummed that I paid 60 for this. Not bad overall, but I just was wanting a little more quality for the price.

This has a rich, funky nose. I was pleasantly surprised how good this is on the palate. The richness gives way to the sweetness and wood notes. I don’t get any heat from this(90.4 proof). Short to medium length finish. Overall: interesting, good whiskey. Not worth the money$$$

First impressions: It’s hot right off of the bat, but it lasts forever on the palate. Once the ethanol has evaporated some, the nose is quite enjoyable (rich fruits and sweet oak). The proof is felt but the flavors really pop. This batch has an extra layer of richness and complexity that takes this to another level once you get accustomed to the proof. Classic BT flavors of sweet fruits and oak on full display. Amazing pour

The nose is light vanilla but pleasant. A long, lingering finish of sweet oak is the highlight here even if it is a touch drying. Only major knock against this whiskey for me is that there isn’t a bold enough hit of flavors on the palate. It could use some more proof but maybe there is a reason for that. Maybe the extra water cut the bitterness out? This isn’t abrasive at all, but buttery and creamy. This was an expensive pour, but I really liked it. Having said that, I don’t know if I’d buy a bottle though. I want a barrel proof whiskey if I’m going to spend the money on an expensive bottle ($150+). Good experience overall ~4.3

Fairly priced; not fantastic but an interesting pour nonetheless

Wife surprised me with this for 7 years together. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It does a perfect dance of sweetness, oak, heat and complexity over the course of a dram. It coats the mouth well and the finish is satisfying. Maybe I lucked out with a honey barrel bottle or something. I love the balance of this at its proof point. Crème brûlée for days. The nose is the best part. Palate is sweet oak to burnt caramel/ vanilla. There really isn’t anything like this. I’m mad at how much I love this. Near perfect, just missing some proof. I can’t believe that I got to try it.

This punches up! Perfect for s’mores around a fire.

I waited till I found a tier 1 bottle (least water added) Nose: grains, caramel, barrel char & some ethanol burn Palate: some heat, vanilla, but mainly peanut bridle notes. I thought this tastes young at first, but it mostly mellowed out after some air time. Finish: short to medium (coats the mouth about average) Overall: pretty good value at $40. I don’t love this, but it’s solid enough to have one on hand. I’d reach for this when I want something different. ~3.9

Hot and spicy, but a underlining sweetness that helps balance it out a little bit. It’s young and kind of a wild flavor profile, but it’s worth having one around. I’m really hoping for some older stuff from them in the future. ~3.9 (110.1 proof)
