Heaven Hill 18 Year Heritage Collection Bourbon (2024)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 4, 2025Nice oak but hurt by the proof point. Had it next to 3 different GTS’s which hurt this. Wonderful mouthfeel but not as complex as I was expecting. Really good overall, but maybe have it by itself if you can. -
Finally got to try this one! Firstly, I’m a turkey fan but not super crazy for it. I had RR13 batch 2 right before for reference. This does meet the hype for me. It has a perfect proof point and mouthfeel for me. However, I don’t think this is whiskey of the year. GTS ‘24 was clearly better overall (More flavor and better finish). Having said that, this will probably still be top 3 for 2024. Excellent release

William Larue Weller Bourbon (Fall 2023)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 15, 2024 (edited June 21, 2025)Very surprised by this pour tonight. I’ve had it open now a couple of weeks after trying it fresh crack. The nose is still gas a lot of ethanol at first but you get more notes this time around. Very fruity with some sweetness, vanilla & floral notes. The palate was dominated by fresh red fruits. (Like a strawberry, raspberry cobbler). A little floral but balanced with some sweetness & oak. There is a burn towards the end of the palate. Long finish that had a nice build up. Overall: I think this will continue to open up with time. I have to knock this down a peg because of how hot this is. I will play around with adding a couple of drops of water to see if that helps. I love the flavor profile and the finish of this pour. For context, GTS ‘22 was clearly better than this when side by side.130.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed December 7, 2024Definitely not my flavor profile. Funky earth and plant-like notes. Weird pour -
George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2020)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 29, 2024 (edited August 2, 2025)This bottle has been opened for two weeks now. It has definitely improved on the nose and the palate. Less ethanol and more flavors are coming through. The finish is lengthy and builds up wonderfully now. This pour will always be in your face, but in a good way. I love the complexity on this. ‘22 is still the best version in recent years, but this is a very good GTS. Cheers!99.99 USD per Bottle -

George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2022)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 28, 2024 (edited June 21, 2025)Probably the easiest 5.00 score ever. . . No flaws, just in-your-face cask strength bourbon done well. The nose: It starts with a warm, enveloping candy-like sweetness ontop of the oak, dark fruits & some dried tobacco notes. Very concentrated once the ethanol has evaporated out of the glass. On the palate: It drinks well under proof (~120), it’s very syrupy, and has a finish that keeps going well after the sip is done. So balanced and yet, complex. Spectacular pour, truely one of the very best out there. Overall: I’d recommend that you pour a little more than you normally would for this one if you have the time to spare. This bourbon was constantly changing as I sipped it. Take a while on this and you’ll experience bourbon nirvana. -
George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2023)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 29, 2024 (edited May 9, 2026)Drinks under proof (~120). Classic BT notes are prominent here. Cherry sweetness, tobacco spice & lots of oak. Looong finish; very viscous. Great bourbon, but other years have more flavor. ‘20, ‘22 & ‘24 are noticeably better on the nose & palate. Don’t overpay for this batch.130.0 USD per Bottle
