Knob Creek 15 Year Bourbon (2021 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 13, 2022 (edited February 25, 2022)Slightly thin but makes it up in a depth of flavors; vanilla, coconut, caramelized banana, oak spices of clove, allspice, and cinnamon. Medium-long length. Satisfying bourbon with an impressive age statement, but if you're looking bottles that are more impressive or similar in age or flavor, but lower or similar in price, look for bottles like Russells reserve 10yr or SiB, 4R SiB/SmBatch Select/or Barrel strength, or EC Barrel Strength. And also, I think it tastes a little over-oaked/aged. A little too tannic -
Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 17
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 6, 2022 (edited March 27, 2022)Quite sweet with a slight cinnamon burn. Honey flavors, cinnamon, and leathery tannins with a medium finish. A real satisfying bourbon but not overly complex -
Lagavulin Offerman Edition Guinness Cask Finish
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed February 6, 2022Absolutely delicious - like a peated, salted, milk chocolate with a refreshing heat that isn't a burn, but moreso refreshing, like mint -
Jefferson's Reserve Twin Oak Custom Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 17, 2021Slightly tannic with notes of black tea, peach, black pepper, and red apple skin. Classic bourbon notes but nothing special for what the price and the bottle promotes -
High Bank Whiskey War American Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — Ohio , USA
Reviewed November 19, 2021 (edited September 26, 2022)Tastes like thin sweet tea. Young, unbalanced, and overly priced. You can reach for a $15 bottle shelf bottle and get something better -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2021-03 "Bardstown Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed October 30, 2021 (edited November 7, 2021)Smells like the box it comes in - very woody and ethanol, like fresh wood stain. Spicy, aggressive, woody with a lot of esters of green and red apples. Drops of water is needed to round it out. Good bourbon, but with the continual price increases of booker's, this isn't worth the $80-90 price tag you may find. It doesn't have a long finish or rememberable flavor that most bourbons have at this range. What it is, is that it's a high proof 6yr old bourbon from Jim beam that comes in pretty packaging and it tastes pretty good - if that's for you then I would try it -
Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed October 23, 2021 (edited November 1, 2021)Slightly dull - short and mellow with a milk chocolate taste and an oily feeling but thin on taste. Not interesting on its own but could be good with coffee, chocolate, fudge, or peanuts -
Hancock's President's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 6, 2021 (edited January 2, 2022)An average bourbon in flavor and taste. Notes of oak, cinnamon, dry finish, rich, vanilla, and full but not a long finish. The price however (MSRP $50) is a little much for a NAS single barrel at lower proof. With Blanton's MSRP of $65 at a higher proof and better design makes me feel like this bottle should be in the 35-$40s range as an introductory bourbon -
Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 4, 2021 (edited October 24, 2021)The best budget bourbon I have ever have. I enjoy it even more than buffalo trace due to its heavier body and longer finish. Sweet notes of corn (obviously), baking spices, vanilla, oak, clove, allspice, brown sugar, sweet tea, and some hot spice to it. Not only a versatile bourbon that can be used in cocktails, but one that can be sipped neat.
