Tastes

Very deep color, smells of wood but not as potent. Floral is an interesting term for the immediate taste, which I would more equate to sweet citrus. That wood smell from before certainly comes back to assist the finish, however. A very nice and clean 0 to 100 ramp up.

That's a spicy meatball! Smells like freshly mulled grains, but hits you quick on the palate with the hot depth. The cinnamon is certainly very real here, but if you can keep your breath about you, you'll taste the smooth, mellowed corn. A no brainer for that farm to glass type taste.

First full pour outside of the distillery. Incredibly sweet and vanilla forward, taking away any alcohol burn. Smells just as potent sweet as it tastes. Great if you've got that sweet tooth but still need a stiff one.

Smells like a freshly made wallet. Tastes as if you added regular Ardbeg to a bowl of sweetened corn flakes and milk. Finishes with that smooth smokiness but with just enough reminder that it is, in fact, a different breed altogether.

Woody notes, but not much else. Hard to taste 12 years of age in this. You can tell it's a higher proof, but it doesn't hit you like one. A little water opens up the smoke a little more, and now brings a certain nuttiness to the table. Not very spectacular, but I think it just needs a little air. Now where did my wife put my decanter...?

Hottest whiskey I've ever had, but the honey taste still resides in the beginning.

You can definitely tell there's a large corn base here. It's for sure hot on the taste, but that's simply because of the barrel strength. Overly sweet if you're basing it on smell, but the alcohol balances it well with a psydo rye flavor. Not so much wood flavor as compared to higher years of age.

Sweet, smoky, and caramel-ly.

Dusty and slightly fruity up front. Ends with wood and a long, but not too heavy, burn.

Wow, that's a lounge sipper. Strong cinnamon taste but not so much extra rye. Strong on the wood smell, and ends with vanilla and a spritz of citrus.
