Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond 15 Year (Fall 2019)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 4, 2020 (edited March 12, 2020)Hasn’t gotten better, still disappointed with this one. A bit too Oaked, get more of sweet baking spice (cinnamon) on most other wheaters and this one is straight pepper. Nose is great but palate turns into a bitter wet oaked , medium /short finish -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 19, 2019 (edited July 10, 2020)Blinded this with Blanton’s SFTB, Elijah Craig BP, and William Laure Weller. This came in a close second to the WLW. -
Blanton's Straight From the Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 19, 2019 (edited January 26, 2020)Great bourbon, smooth for the proof. It’s Blanton’s on steroids, exactly what you would expect. Do get a bit of a tea note on nose and palate. WTF don’t they sell this in the US? -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Bourbon

Caramel , Vanilla bomb with a bit of red apple and baking spices. Cinnamon comes through on finish similar to other BT offerings . Love it, wish I could find more often -
Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond 15 Year (Fall 2019)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 8, 2019 (edited January 21, 2020)Will review this one again after it opens up a bit. Neck pour neat initially I’ll say it’s a bit disappointing but that’s mainly because it’s a $150 bottle so expectations are high. For a BIB 15 year old bourbon get classic wheat notes of cherry, cinnamon, brown sugar and little pepper spice on finish. Def get the oak on nose and palate with a short to medium finish. This is a good bourbon don’t get me wrong, beautiful bottle, however there are many others in the $50 -$70 range just as good if not better. of cherry -
Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Bourbon (107 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 2, 2019 (edited December 30, 2019)Updated review after letting open up a bit, much better, get more of the bright fruit flavors along with oak, vanilla and a medium finish. Much better than initial pour. Still not worth secondary prices, would I pay $69 again...maybe? -
Like this better than old bottling. More balanced, typical nutty profile with nice rye kick. Seems to get better as it opens up. Still think they need to get to a better price point. At $59 think I’m paying for a cool bottle now, way better stuff out there at that price point - ECBP, OF 1920, Rare Breed...

Michter's US*1 American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — USA
Reviewed November 28, 2019 (edited April 3, 2021)This is one you have to start with due to the low proof. Very well balanced, smooth creamy sweetness. Get a honey / vanilla/ cereal taste. Slight fruitiness, crisp clean finish. Would I buy again -Yes, would this be great at cask strength- Absolutely -
Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Bourbon (107 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 26, 2019 (edited December 16, 2019)Would be higher, definitely great bourbon, however even at retail I would prefer OWA at $49 vs. $69 for this. Was lucky enough to find at msrp and definitely a great pour, would say it’s comparable to OWA 107 but a little more oak and it’s a smooth oak, delicious. Otherwise it’s typical bourbon flavors with a bit of cherry and cinnamon kick on the finish which is medium at best.
