Don’t start with this one, work your way up to truly enjoy. Unique to any bourbon I’ve had thus far, that being said it’s absolutely delicious. One of the more complex bourbons I’ve had...Has notes of strong spices, cinnamon, pepper, cherry, pumpkin, cloves, brunt brown sugar. Something in there I can’t pinpoint but I find in American single malts? Anyway it’s 9/3 and this is a great fall kickoff. Definitely a cold weather/ nightcap dram, damn good!

George Dickel 13 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Fall 2005)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed July 31, 2019 (edited August 23, 2019)Just came to my area, first try (always drink It neat) very impressed. Haven’t had a lot of Tennessee whiskeys but this is a steal for $35 at a 13 year bottled in bond. Get a little of the vitamin/ mineral/fruity pebbles taste but it’s nice. On top of that there is great balance of oak with nice cream brûlée, cinnamon, peppery finish. Look forward to seeing how this one opens up over next couple of weeks. Has opened up a lot, not so much of the vitamin taste initially, has smoothed out quite nicely. This bottle is gone have already bought a couple more. -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Batch Proof 123.2
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 19, 2019 (edited September 13, 2019)I’ll give this a 3.75 just from reading some of these reviews and that’s on the high end. It’s good, not great. Def hot, short to medium finish and don’t get the cherry. Maybe I got a bad bottle but for those looking at good, affordable, available, stick with ECBP, Old Forrester 1920, Knob Creek Single Barrel to name a few all at $49-$59. If this was in similar price range would give a 4.5 review but at $129 expect a lot more (shocker). Cool bottle shape for my bar though, too bad I prefer to drink it... -
Don’t get me wrong this is a great addition to the four roses lineup and higher proof NCF is great also. Really like this bourbon, however it’s not great which would equate to a higher rating. Not near as floral as other offerings, (neat in Glen cairn ) get a faint cherry, dark chocolate, typical Carmel/ brown sugar notes. Palate the chocolate comes through w brown sugar & dark fruit notes and the mint (spearmint) really comes through on finish. I like it a lot just don’t love it. Will def buy and will be toss up between this and single barrel. Thinking this might come through better on a colder fall/winter night?

Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 14, 2019 (edited May 20, 2019)Updated bottle 5605 barreled on 8-25-08. Best bottle yet, this is 4th one I’ve bought. Classic on the nose ( caramel, vanilla wafer, honey, with a subtle oak). Perfect balance on palate and medium to long finish. All the same flavors from nose come through and very smooth at 100 proof. I can see why this has won the awards it has and at price point if every bottle was like this one I would have a large stockpile. Sadly getting hard to find. -
The Clover 10 Year Single Barrel Tennessee Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Tennessee , USA
Reviewed May 10, 2019Found a bottle of this when visiting Pinehurst NC recently and found out they only sell this around high end golf resorts? Anyway very good dram and for a 10 year single barrel product great value at $49 -
Have tried twice, was mesmerized the first time that couldn’t give objective review. 2nd time after I had tasted some other really good bourbons I can honestly say this is way overrated. Good, smooth and definitely a unique dram. Just a bit oaky and leathery. Like the 10-12 year range stuff way better.
