William Larue Weller Bourbon (Fall 2016)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 20, 2019 (edited February 17, 2022)Got a bottle, very thankful/ lucky, best nose by far, taste as beautiful as it smells, so much going on. Was worried I would be disappointed from everything I had heard/read. Nope, my favorite so far. This is the real deal. -
George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2019)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 16, 2019 (edited January 9, 2020)F ING Delicious... Typical Caramel, vanilla notes perfectly balanced with cherry, red apple, tobacco, and perfect amount of oak. Get a little of the powdered sugar, think cause it’s just Yummy. Chew this one around for a bit. Everything you would expect, would give a perfect 5 but not quite the finish I had on other Stagg, though it’s still long. Neck pour, look forward to seeing how this opens up. -

Knob Creek Quarter Oak
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 12, 2019 (edited December 18, 2019)Not very impressed, has taken me a while to get trough this bottle and I’ve given up. -
Four Roses 130th Anniversary Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon (2018)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2019Almost prefect, have always loved four roses expressions and this doesn’t disappoint. Delicate floral, fruit, baking spice nose. Could smell all night...More of the bourbon flavors come through on the palate with caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, cherry, apples, allspice, a bit of a cream brûlée note? Finish is on medium to long side which is why this isn’t a 5. Get a little cinnamon, slight minty on finish with a subtle oak. This is like a mixed berry, apple cinnamon pie with a burnt brown sugar/ Carmel drizzle on top. Sweet & Yummy, will buy at retail anytime I can find. -
Woodford Reserve Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 22, 2019 (edited March 11, 2020)This a great whiskey, perfect everyday especially if you like wheaters. Also supposedly a permanent addition to woodford lineup that’s readily available under $40, sign me up. Delicious sweet, fruity nose. Think juicy fruit with a touch of cinnamon. Get red berry/apples touch of classic vanilla, caramel, brown sugar notes. Not a long finish but decent. Would absolutely love to try this at cask strength, great sweet delicious dram. Only thing holding me back is lower proof, short/medium finish. -
Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 9, 2019 (edited October 25, 2019)Good not great, let this one open up for a week and still taste a weird note that I get from single malt whiskeys. Beautiful bottle, average bourbon, doesn’t taste like a bourbon. Sorry I couldn’t give this a more poetic review. -
First time trying this, yes a lot of hype so hard to be truly objective. That being said I won’t get carried away with all the flavors that come together in this. The other reviews are accurate except I don’t get any type of mint. Just delicious vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, and perfect amount of oak all come together boldly and beautifully. It’s delicious, truly an exceptional bourbon that is going to make me reevaluate others I have rated before. I love pure higher proof stuff but this is the only bourbon where (to me) everything really came together perfectly and will make truly appreciate what finish and mouthfeel are all about. A 1.5 finger pour neat lasted about 30 min, enjoyed it immensely, what a great experience. Can’t wait to share this with my friends and family....

Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 17, 2019 (edited September 24, 2019)This is good, typical OF profile. Would describe as a lower proof(-20) than the 1920. For those that like higher proof would think you would prefer 1920, if not will prob prefer this. Both are great to me, would rate higher but prefer the higher proof and this is much harder to find.
