Interesting and different... and actually good. It's got a very grainy, herbal(bitter) flavor - it has nice malty notes with a strong caramel flavor, maybe a hint of butterscotch. Long finish of bitter herbs and caramel. Not something I necessarily want to drink all the time, but it's quite tasty and it is a bit of an oddball, which makes it a great collector's whiskey.

Amazing nose - spicy rye, maybe some cinnamon, dry wood. Very woody, flavor oak, but almost like cedar too. I usually don't like too much wood, but this is wood at its best! Some caramel, toasted corn, but not overly sweet. Rye bite with cinnamon in the finish, with a really pleasant, but balanced burn, with all the above mentioned wood. Fan-friggin-tastic!! Makes me entertain the foolish notion that I like bourbon as much as scotch ;)

Nicely balanced- when it hit my tongue for the first time, my immediate reaction was "Oh, that's good!" Moderate rye, a bit woody, but not too much. Perhaps a bit of char? Full bodied, a hint of vanilla, nice tobacco bite, spicy finish with some wood, but not too much. Coats the palate, great mouth feel and a lingering finish.

Sweet, round flavor. Slightly over-toasted malt, not bad. Strong toasted grain flavor that unfolds into caramel as you drink it. Maybe a little honey or marshmallow? Definitely worth drinking for the price - not going to change your world, but decent and affordable! Buy the crock - you know that you want to!! ;)

I definitely get the rum notes, but it's not overpowering - I feel like there is a faint banana taste. The whiskey is slightly sweet with some decent burn, with some dry wood and alcohol in the finish. I was expecting a maltier, more grain influenced flavor, which is what I was hoping for. Grain is definitely there, but I feel like it's more in the background. Definitely drinkable, but I don't think that it's exceptional. I feel like I could get more out of a scotch at the same price point. A bit of mint in the finish.
