Reviewed February 20, 2020 (edited September 6, 2021)Nose: Fresh and flowery over sour apple, luxurious spice creeps forward, beery notes and grain emerge Palate: Caramel and dusty spice, flowers, fruity acidity emerges, faint chocolate notes Finish: Dry woodiness freshened with hops, short but refreshing. -
Kavalan Ex-Bourbon Oak Single Malt
Single Malt — Taiwan
Reviewed February 6, 2020 (edited June 11, 2022)Nose: Strong banana and coconut shading to oak, tea and apple. Palate: Honey, caramel, menthol and banana, rising oak, pepper fades in at end. Finish: Drying wood with faint honey lingering on top. -

Reviewed December 26, 2019 (edited December 28, 2019)Sweet and brightly fruity on the nose, apples, pears, apricots, hints of baking spice underneath. Fruit jam and caramel on palate, contrasting spice creeping in below' both eventually blending harmoniously. Spice, fruit, and eventually sweet bread on finish. Good but would be better cask strength. -

Reviewed October 6, 2019Nose: Brief hit of baked goods on first whiff. Cream, vanilla, faint acetone, cherry sweets. Palate: Oak and vanilla, baked cherries, fading into pepperiness and savory bread. Finish. Bread predominates. Still a hint of acetone. -
Glenfiddich 21 Year Reserva Rum Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 31, 2019 (edited November 9, 2019)Nose: Banana and apples at first, then deep honey and figs, with faint baking spices. Palate: Dried fruit, figs, and apples., woodiness creeps in slowly, then expands into strong coffee with a drop of cream on the tongue. Finish: Wood expands back out of the coffee for a moment, followed by faint fruity esters.
