I think this is a wonderful dram for introducing people to peaty whisky. Nose: oak spice with orange peel, a bit of vanilla, and mild campfire smoke. Palate: oily texture that really fills up the mouth. Notes of oak spice, orange and also green fruits, and the smoke is not as noticeable as on the nose. Finish: dry but lingering vanilla and slight spice.

Ben Nevis 10 Year
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed December 8, 2019 (edited December 12, 2019)Nose: fresh floral honey, green apples, slight sheery-baked apples. Palate: Splendid. Starts with the fresh honey sweetness and a good creamy texture, that then morphs into a plesant oak spice that fills the mouth. Finish: lingering sherry baked apples and the floral honey sweetness coating the mouth. -
Nose: almost like a cognac with sweet berries and flora with the oak undertones. Only a bit of rye pepper spice. Palate: strong burn on first sip. The initial taste is very sweet, again almost cognac like. It then burst into the rye white pepper spice with a mix of the oak barrel. The finish lingers on the tongue with a hint of dried fruits.

Nose: not bonfire or bandaid like usual peat, instead more like smoked bacon, but it has a sweet butterscotch to it as well. End notes slightly spiked with a pepper and citrus. Palate: very surprising. Only light smoke, instead it explodes in a sea of butterscotch sweetness that's followed by flowery citrus spice. The finish carries some of the oak and the smoked bacon, still with some malt sweetness.
