It’s okay for mixed drinks.

Unusual for a bourbon. Well, this is the first I’ve had from Las Vegas. I get marzipan in the nose, and cherry-liqueur filled chocolates on the palette. It’s an interesting change of pace, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to pick up another bottle.

When I bought a couple of bottles at the White Rabbit Bottle Shop before taking a tour at the Jack Daniel Distillery, I had no idea this would be one of the best whiskies I’d ever drink. It’s simply phenomenal. Rich and sweet in the nose, with rum- or whiskey-soaked raisins, vanilla, and oak. Sweet on the palette, with molasses, vanilla, and rye spice, and a bit of burn as it goes down. Finishes a little dryer, with plenty of rye spice lingering on the lips and tongue for a good while.

Strong, sweet aromas of baking spices in the nose. Initially sweet on the palette, followed by an intense, dryer burst of clove, nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon, then dark stone fruit, like Italian plums, which lingers for a while. Finishes fairly dry. It’s definitely something out of the ordinary, and I’m glad I picked up a couple of bottles at the White Rabbit Bottle Shop in Lynchburg.

Very nice aroma and flavor. Rich and sweet, with strong elements of oak and vanilla. There are no negatives, other than the price. My bottle was a gift.

Hint of ripe banana in the nose. Sweet on the palette, with brown sugar, baking spices, and rye. Finishes a bit drier. Can’t help but be reminded of Bananas Foster dessert.
