Jim Beam Black Label Extra-Aged
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed February 20, 2024 (edited February 21, 2024)Jim Beam Black Label bourbon, while decent, doesn’t quite live up to its predecessor, the 8-year-old variant. It presents a nose rich with vanilla and caramel notes. On entry, it offers a smooth experience, with a palate that weaves together the warmth of spice, the sweetness of vanilla, and the richness of caramel. The finish is notable, leaving a lingering taste of pipe tobacco and cinnamon complemented by a subtle touch of oak. In comparison, Evan Williams Black Label Bourbon stands out as superior in flavor to Jim Beam Black Label Bourbon and comes with the added advantage of being more affordable.19.99 USD per BottleFiesta Mart #4 -

Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 8, 2024 (edited March 19, 2024)Monkey Shoulder Malt Blended Scotch is now made up of 90% young Kininvie from start to finish, with Glenfinnish and Balvenie in the background of the palate and finish respectively. The nose promises rich aromas of citrus, allspice, vanilla, and caramel. On the palate, it starts with a heated entry of allspice, cinnamon, caramel, and citrus. The finish is a blend of caramel, honey, oak, and allspice. In my opinion, the current version of Monkey Shoulder Malt Blended Scotch is too mild and overpriced for its quality, and I wouldn't choose to buy it again.31.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
For a consistently high-quality whiskey, choose Johnnie Walker's Black Label. Its aroma is complex and mesmerizing, blending smoky notes with cinnamon, honey, and heather. The rich and smooth taste is unforgettable, with notes of smoke, cacao, cinnamon, honey, and heather, and a finish of hot cinnamon and toffee. Trust the quality and taste of Johnnie Walker's Black Label every time you indulge, and enjoy its delightful flavors.32.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

Buchanan's De Luxe 12 Year is said to be of the same quality as Black and White Scotch, but it is overpriced. The nose is greeted with exotic aromas of smoke, peat, walnuts, and caramel. However, the entry is thin and only brings out the flavors of cinnamon and caramel. The finish is brief and has a taste of smoke, peat, and cocoa. Although it is a Latino fad created by Diageo, it doesn't have much substance compared to other brands in the same price range such as Johnnie Walker Black Label, Old Parr 12 years old, and Haig Pinch Dimple 15 years old of Diageo Brands, which are better alternatives.32.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More
