Tastes

On the nose, a bit of butter, caramel and alcohol. On the tongue, astringent honey, pepper and a nice warm burn in the back. Solid dram.

On the nose, it smells of caramel, oregano and hints of anise. On the palate, heavy on sweet corn, butter, spices and a mild afterburn. Pretty good pour.

Sweet, a touch of caramel but quite harsh in the backend. Satisfactory pour.

On the nose, there is ethanol and butter. On the palate, I taste black licorice, baking spices and caramel. I don’t taste much fruit as they say on the label. This is one of the better budget Scotch whiskeys as I’ve had far worse.

Definitely nutty and sweet. I would mix or cook with it.

On the nose, rye and candies. On the palate, butterscotch, hints of rye, spices and uptick of alcoholic burn in the back. The spices are quite nice.

Nice expression of rye whiskey. Tastier than Rittenhouse bottled in bond neat and much better than standard Old Overholt. On the nose, there is a tinge of alcohol and rye. On the palate, there is caramel and corn sweetness with some warmth in the backend. Very good rye.

Overall, not bad, just not distinctive. But you pay for what you get. On the nose, there is caramel, alcohol and spice. On the palate, there is sweetness, corn and a mild burn. The aged version is probably infinitely better. As for this, it’s a solid mixer or cheap dram.

On the nose, this whiskey smells delightfully of caramel. However, on the tongue, it is heavily of alcohol without even a hint of oak. There are better Irish whiskey options than this.
