    On the nose, it’s has a whole lot of lemons and coriander. On the tongue, it’s typical Jameson with a backwash of hoppy IPA. I would incline to agree with some reviews. This whisky would be awesome if the IPA was brought to the forefront. I like this better than the Stout cask mates.

    Nose is pungent, alcoholic and funky. On the tongue, there’s vanilla, banana, funk and spiciness. It’s not a sweet rum nor a medicinal one. The finish is quick with some apples. Not an everyday sipper and probably best served as a traditional mixer.

    Jim Beam did a number on this whiskey. Alcohol and burnt sugar on the nose. On the palate, it’s Jim Beam cranked up with lots of burn and lots of intense spiciness with a touch of vanilla. It may not be an everyday sipper but a solid mixer — or for those crappy nights where liquid courage is needed.

    For a brandy, it’s not too inspiring. Too light in color as youth shows it’s age. Too light on the palate with its cherries and young purple grapes. Some vanilla in the back. Given a choice, I would go with Paul Masson over this.

    It won’t stack against Hennessy, Remy, etc. but it’s pretty decent for $10. This brandy won’t win any awards. It’s a decent after dinner drink which won’t offend anyone.

    Nose of dried fruits, pungent ginger, alcohol and a touch of oak. On the tongue, sweetness and somewhat grassy and oaky. Mild tinge of an aftertaste. The grassy and ginger element are a bit off-putting and I can understand the mixed reviews.

    Not exactly a Courvorsier or Hennessy but it will do in a pinch. Ethanol and a hint of molasses on the nose. Subtle prune taste. Quick diluted finish. Pleasant and inoffensive for an after-dinner drink.

    On the nose, a touch buttery and alcohol. Tasting it, it’s smooth, kind of sweet, hint of mint. Not very distinctive but definitely smooth and drinkable. Monkey Shoulder is a bit more inspiring than this.

    Solid for a rye from a big producer. Subtle rye throughout with spices and a bit of butterscotch thrown in. Pleasant but not overly distinctive. George Dickel wins over this. This rye does have a lingering afterburn for those winter nights.

    Definitely rye-forward with some spices thrown in. I would definite this rye as classic more than anything else. Pleasant rye aftertaste but not too distinctive. Can drink straight but would go well with a meat and cheese plate.
