Tastes

Nose: leather, peat, red fruit and lemon zest. Taste: grass and hay tones, the sherry finish shines in the main body. Toast, caramel and honey. Finish: caramel, dark chocolate Amazing full bodied whisky for its price point.

Nose: peat, apple, hint of red fruit, vanilla and caramel Taste: Vanilla, oak, spices. Some oak. Pretty malty. Strong start, but a bit flat in the main body. Finish: hint of eucalyptus, chocolate and roasted coffee Good value for money. Nice sipper

Nose: vanilla, malty, sweet and citrus is dominating. Taste: sweet, vanilla, caramel, a little buttery and apple. Finish: dark chocolate, vanilla.

Smell: sharp alcohol burn due to the 58.5% ABV. Honey, citrus, sweet apple and brown sugar Taste: sweet and herbal. Citrus, toffee, caramel. Finish: malty and cookie dough. Dark chocolate. Long finish

Nose: applesauce, plums, raisins, vanilla, hay. Taste: apples, caramel, dried red fruit and peppercorn. Finish: chocolate and light tobaco. The finish is long and really worth it.

Im side by side comparing this one to the singleton of dufftown 12 years old. Nose: immediately the fruityness and apples jump out. Vanilla, and some lime. A hint of honey. Taste: Light tannic bitterness, pretty oily. Still a lot of apple and pear fruityness, with added caramel, hay, and peppercorn. Finish: short and a bit unpleasant. reminds me most of orange pith and very dark chocolate which lingers in your mouth. On the nose this whisky had my prefference over the singleton of dufftown 12 YO, but the bitterness in this version actually made it score worse.

Nose: wallnut, raisins, vanilla and honeysuckle. taste: cookiedough, light caramel, apple and vanilla. pretty light alltogether, and no harsh tones. Sweet and fruity, very pleasant. Finish: Cookies, chocolate, and the wallnut is back.

Nose: sour apples, raisins, candy, grape peels. Taste: light and fruity. Sweet. Baking spices and some cinnamon. In the finish the Chardonnay cask comes forth. Sweetness and caramel. The finish is longer than I would expect from a 40% whisky with a kind of a weak base. So far from all their finishes this Chardonnay cask is certainly my favourite

Last pour of this bottle. Malty nose, vanilla, citrus, dries stonefruit, toffee. Citrus, toffee, a bit oily, caramel and chocolate. Finish is medium long with chocolate and candied dried fruit.

Vanilla, lightly caramelized sugar, pepper and oak on the nose. The taste of vanilla is dominating. A rich sweetness with honey, caramel, a touch of chocolate and a bit of almond. The finish is medium long with chocolate and coffee. There is also a freshness that lingers... Peppermint?
