Nose - sugary, burnt caramel Taste - a bit hot up front and carries through to the finish, that friendly taste from MM Finish - continued burn from the alcohol, warms the belly Score - 3.5, a step up from standard MM but nothing special Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate

Glenmorangie 18 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 4, 2021 (edited November 20, 2021)Nose - not very strong on the nose at first, really opens up when resting for a moment, apricot, honey---Kenz says very much like and orange grove, lots of citrus and spices Taste - rich and fruitful, tastes explode filling the palate with a complex mix of lemon and honey Finish - long and complex, drags out what is tasted on the palate and rolls into an evolving sweetness, lingers with each breath thereafter Score - 4.5, flavors are amazing to me, busting at the seams compared to their 10yr. For the price and what it brings to the senses, this one is going to keep a spot on my shelf Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate -
Nose - granny smith apples really stand out to me, the more it rests the more I smell them, also some vanilla, light tingle on the nose Taste - goes down easily, sweet and rich tastes, light notes of honey and apple, vanilla ensues which transitions into the finish Finish - short and sweet with some caramel, warms the throat Score - 4.0, something about this whisky just captivates me, and honestly for the price this is pretty good, would be great to share with friends around a poker table Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate

Glen Grant 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed July 19, 2021 (edited November 22, 2021)Nose - strong on the honey, subtle flower petals, pineapple, orange peels, I find something new each dram which is quite fun Taste - smooth on the palate, added H2O and it really brings out the flavor, apricots, honey Finish - sweet, lasts for a moment and fills the mouth with an explosion of honey but leaves very quickly, it ends with an almost long draw of sweetness that keeps fading, slight burn on the nostrils as I exhale Score - 3.75, after tasting with and without H2O, I would advise adding a drop or two Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate -
Lagavulin Offerman Edition Guinness Cask Finish
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 19, 2021 (edited November 1, 2021)Nose - First impression is creamyness mixed with a light peated scent, you get essentially no burn allowing for an easy draw into the nose Taste -H2O added- light and refreshing on the front with a subtle peat taste, it evolves flavor to a chocolate malt as it leaves the palate, more cream ensues Finish - I definitely get the Guinness influence once I open my mouth to draw in a breath and let the flavor linger for a moment, the finish on this is quite long and much welcomed Score -4.5, while easy on the nose, the back end of the palate and the finish are the standouts here. I know this won't be one I can easily find again, but I'll be on the lookout Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable. 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate -
Nose - Smokey, light peat, black peppercorn, tingles the nostrils Taste - oily up front, a light peat follows, then a kick of maltyness Finish - a rather long and delightful finish, almost get a saltyness with slight malt, then a tingle on the toungue with flavors that linger on the palate and throat feeling like I just had some cayenne pepper chocolate Score - 4.0, wow this is a fun drink, keeps you thinking about the flavors and complexity of the dram after each sip Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate

Nose - sweet apple, light honey notes Taste - light taste but not much to note, very smooth, it's almost like the tastes have been muted by the blending Finish - comes in two waves, first on the palate then fills the nostrils, smooth and little to no burn Score - 3.5, tasted next to Glenmorangie Signet, this may have decreased the score but honestly it wasn't anything special, nose is the star on this one, the taste and finish were lackluster Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate

Glenmorangie Signet
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 12, 2021 (edited September 23, 2021)Nose - sweet, floral, little to no burn from the alcohol, honey, brown sugar Taste - reminds me of cinnamon toast crunch almost, sweet and slightly floral Finish - light finish which doesn't last long, easy to go down, burn lingers for a second but very welcome Score - 4.5, very smooth and solid drink, compared to the 18 year it isn't as heavy on the desert flavors, it offers a different breed for the everyday drink Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate -
Nose - honestly I don't smell anything, maybe a faint whisky smell? Taste - smooth, subtle honey notes, slight burn on the palate and tongue, not much else noted Finish - tingles on the tongue, light burn that lingers Score - 3.0, Quite easy to drink, but the flat taste and essentially nothing on the nose is what gives this a low score for me, might mix well given the low taste profile Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate

Took 25mg of Benadryl due to allergic reaction, so review may be altered from this Nose - honey, citrus, sweetness Taste - super smooth, very easy on the palate, taste is very different than what one expects from the nose, can't quite put my finger on it but is not sweet or floral, I taste wood which dominates the palate---Juliana says Ticonderoga pencils Finish - smooth very little to no burn, no floral notes in this one, tingling sensation after the finish passes Score - 3.5 Scoring Legend 5.0 - Outstanding, unmatched to others 4.5 - Excellent, I will always keep a bottle in stock if possible 4.0 - Very good, quite enjoyable to drink, can consider as a solid choice 3.5 - Good, would taste again 3.0 - Average 2.5 - Acceptable, still drinkable 2.0 - Inferior, able to drink but not enjoyable 1.5 and below—wouldn’t drink again unless I am desperate
