On the nose it's green, spicy, fresh. Feels like a rye, but there's a dusty corn note lingering in the background betraying that this is a Bourbon. This dusty corn then begins trading time with a sensation of green tea that becomes more and more prevalent the longer you sit with it. The taste adds a toasted vanilla finish to the mix, but the green tea and rye spice remain the defining features. It's an interesting dram, but ultimately too loud, brash, and young feeling to be anything beyond a novelty.50.0 USD per Bottle

The nose is very sweet, showcasing a lot of cherry, vanilla, and maybe a hint of brown sugar and butterscotch. The taste retains these characteristics, but adds a hefty dose of oak to the mix, with the cherry becoming dominant and the vanilla mostly provided a creamy undercurrent. The finish is a little tart making the cherry seem slightly underripe.50.0 USD per Bottle

Barrell Whiskey Infinite Barrel Project (July 16, 2018)
Other Whiskey — (bottled in) Kentucky, Multiple Countries
Reviewed December 27, 2019 (edited February 26, 2020)Nose is fairly weak, but defined mostly by vanilla, light bronzed caramel, and maybe a hint of cloved red apple. The taste (surprisingly) leans into this apple direction, followed by some interesting spices washing over the back end. However, the ABV ends up dominating the party. Overall, the dram feels loud and young. Not unpleasant, but definitely lacking in complexity.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Balblair 1990 2nd Release
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 25, 2019 (edited February 19, 2022)The nose is sharp but sweet. Malt, honey, and oak are intertwined with faint hints of apricot and stewed strawberries. On the palate, the oak and sweet malt take over with a definite punch from the higher ABV. Initially a straightforward dram, but offers increasing rewards the longer you sit with it.225.0 USD per Bottle -
Octomore 06.1/167 Scottish Barley
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 4, 2019 (edited April 2, 2020)On the nose: kerosene, malt, and sharp vegetal peat. Distinct burning sensation with hints of cheese. The taste begins just as intense but rewards you with a feast of malt, oil, and smoke that leaves you with one of the best aftertastes you'll ever experience.160.0 USD per Bottle -
Lagavulin 2002 Distillers Edition (Bottled 2018)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 4, 2019On the nose, the peat smoke punches through first but quickly recedes into pool of strawberry jam and blackberries which retains it's intensity due to the underlying peat base. The taste retains the fruit notes with a syrupy consistently but the finish blossoms back into a flurry of peat smoke returning the dram to it's roots. It's a strange, peculiar experience, though one containing great delights if given sufficient attention.100.0 USD per Bottle -
Amador Double Barrel Bourbon Finished in Napa Valley Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky (Finished and Bottled in California), USA
Reviewed October 19, 2019 (edited February 19, 2020)Nose is sweet and dusty with hunks of vanilla popping up here and there. Taste is straight Caramel with a hint of iodine on the finish. A little too sweet with too thin and pasty of a finish to be particularly pleasant. -
On the nose, stewed peaches and apricots reminiscent of a day-old, unsweetened pie with a touch of soft honey. The taste continues the pastry sensations adding a hint of flaky crust and baked sugar crystals. The alcohol burn is more prevalent then might be expected at 43%, but the aftertaste is wonderful with the golden honey lingering in a lovely fashion.
