Uncorking and blind tasted with 4 islay. lost smoke immediately in the glass leaving a faint sea air and peat but mild. Almost candied taste, buttery, tastes bourbon barreled? Sweetness and oak really come through with buttery richness. Taste the oak too mid palatw. No bite at all but it does a warm hug going down. Really easy to drink. Smooth but not overly complex. Oily. Finish doesn't linger a lot but is salted buttery sweet popcorn 10 ft from a fire on the beach.

Weller Antique 107 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 2, 2020 (edited November 1, 2020)Uncorking - The nose has some floral and vanilla bean but they really taste in the glass. Very easy to drink even at this proof but gives a good hug on the way down. Real sweet with hot cinnamon finish like u sucked on a fireball for a moment. -
Re-tasted in a blind tasting. Very pale gold. Smoke disappeared in glass quick, leaving some fruit and honey. Medicinal. Bandaid. More bite on taste. Feels a bit watery this time. Taste the alcohol more but finishes with some mints and dried fruit that I wasn't getting at first. Smoke and peat still sneak in and linger long after the rest has gone home. Def still some smoke but not dominating throughout like my first tasting.

Hamiltons Islay Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed August 2, 2020 (edited April 23, 2021)Uncorking- blind tasting. caramel, bitter vegetal noise. Smoke at first but it lightened quick in a glass. Sweet on taste, no burn at all. Caramel popcorn and burnt toffee start on taste, paper like a card shop, then seaweed and road tar comes in a bit at the end. Honestly it's a weird combo that feels a bit out of sorts but nothing wasn't pleasant on its own. I'm going to have to come back and see where I find it later. Almost too sweet mid palate.
