Really nice well rounded Islay. The peat is not as dominant as I expected from the stories that surround this near legendary expression. The smoke is aromatic like incense or sweet sigar or pipe tobacco. Brine like in smoked fish and notes of vanilla sweetness, chocolate bitterness, peppery spice and lemon sourness all clouded in a mist of smoke.

Distinctive peat on the nose but not overpowering so you pick up lighter notes too of vanilla and dried hay. The pallet continues from the nose as a liquid campfire of wood and hay. Peaty but a dry inland peat like in peated highland scotch. Subtle sweet notes of vanilla and caramel. It's slightly better than the sea cask because it's has a richer taste and longer finish, but that could be personal preference. I think this is unparalelled in richness and taste for it's price.20.0 EUR per Bottle

The nose instantly transports you to the beach with a mild breeze. Very briny with a little bit of vanilla and grass notes. On the palet more brine and vanilla joined by honeyed cereal and a touch of fresh lemon. Quite light in taste and the finish is short but considering the price very much bang for your buck.20.0 EUR per Bottle

Vanilla is dominant in the nose and taste in this Teeling expression too. Strong alcoholic smell and bite on the finish. On the pallet notes of red fruit but quickly overpowered by the barrelspice and the alcohol. This is a not very exciting whiskey to me reminds me of a young fruity bourbon. I liked this one the least of the Trinity pack.

Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed March 19, 2021 (edited January 20, 2022)On the nose vanilla is dominant with hints of sweet fruits. On the pallet waves of different fruits roll in. First Light tastes of citrusfruits with orchardfruits and after that more heavy notes of dried- and forestfruits. The pallet is quite rich in barrelspice and alcoholic bite. Overall very interesting but a bit overpowering to me. Maybe it's one of those whiskies that take multiple tastes to really unlock. This sample felt a bit chaotic and overwhelming. The different tastes aren't really blending together well.
