Tastes

Quite pale in colour for a sherried whisky. Raisins on the nose, up front on the palet and in the finish. Subtle oak, nuts and chocolate. Spicy throughout the pallet and lingering on the finish. Also pretty sharp with a bit of alcohol burn, seems fairly young.

Grassy and earthy with sweet spice and black pepper. Long sweet spicy finish.

Creamy milkchocolate and dried fruits. Great value for money this one.

This whisky appealed to me ever since I first heard of it. It has a beautiful unique and recognizable label design (old label design) and it sounds good on paper. Everything I like and with a good story behind it. They told me to never buy whisky with your eyes but I couldn't resist when I could get a bottle for a good price. Luckily I wasn't disappointed. Sweet vanilla peat smoke with dried fruit and nuts. It reminds me of roasting chestnuts over an open fire in the forest. I've never been a boyscout but I imagine it smelling and tasting like this.
