We purchased a bottle and before we realized it, it was gone, because this is a smooth, tasty and easy to drink whiskey I would recommend purchasing two bottles. 95% Rye, 5% Corn or Barley - MGP Rye. In my opinion this should be drank neat but I would imagine with a few drops of distilled water it might open some of the flavors up more? For the money this is a wonderful whiskey and should be on your beverage cart as an everyday sipper or something to impress friends! BTW the name of this whiskey is the year Kentucky became a state! The spirit is made in the spirit of whiskey but it falls very short! Personally I find most of the flavors rather foreboding, there is one flavor up front when you first smell it that is quite nice after that it is very odd and plays with all of your senses as most of the flavors seem to be forced. This was a nice experience I should put nice in quotes, the thing is the amount of money for this beverage is definitely not worth it! I personally don't think you could mix this in any mixed drink, or wapituli that would mask the sheer starkness of this spirit. This is spirit is constructed in a laboratory... There is a nice sweetness to the sip... But there is certain about of peat and smoke that makes this taste more scotch like than whiskey to me.
