Knappogue Castle 12 Year Bourbon Cask Matured
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed March 3, 2018 (edited April 20, 2018)I tried this one on a tour in Irish Whiskey Musem in Dublin. And I must say I was very positively surprised with this one (to be honest – that was the first time I had heard about this brand). Very rich, sweet and smooth. And so very Irish for sure 😊 -
Teeling Single Grain Whiskey
Single Grain — Ireland
Reviewed March 3, 2018 (edited November 24, 2019)The best of the Teelings I had tried. And so very Irish… Smooth, honey and floral aromas followed by very rich, but smooth tastes. Fruits, flowers, caramel, honey, oak… And all this really well balanced. 5/5. Sláinte! -
Tasted this during the tour at Teelings in Dublin. I believe I hadn't tasted any other whiskey that was aged in so many casks. And the first impression is rather positive. A variety of tastes makes this one smell and taste more like Scotch than Irish whiskey. And as long as I am looking forward to some further experiments from Teeling I believe that this one is not quite a classic Irish whiskey. And I will look for the "spirit of Dublin" somewhere else.

[app 120PLN] Definitely worth trying. It reminds me of bourbon both in nose and taste. Sweet, with distinctive caramel and honey. Still, I guess it could use some more time in the barrel. It is nice, easy drinking whiskey, but if you look for sth really nice from Teeling I strongly recommend the "Single Grain" .

Caol Ila 12 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed September 8, 2017 (edited September 7, 2019)Really worth the money. Plenty of tastes in one glass :) Some smoke and charcoal blend nicely with fuits, vanilla and toffee notes. This is not a peat monster tough but a nice choice for someone who is looking looking for something "in between" classic and peat whiskeys.
