Reviewed March 31, 2021 (edited November 18, 2022)A very thin taste. Light, good for early in the day, I suppose. That label states that it has a low, deep impact toast profile. I didn’t really taste that. The aroma and the taste are strangely very different. I smelled some floral and fruit, but the taste was a bit leather-like to me. A fairly expensive Bourbon, but, I’m happy to have tried an experiment.20.0 USD per Bottle -
The bottle is very nice - I like the green print and Muir quote on the label. After the crack you’ll see that see the Rye is a sparkling light caramel color. The aroma reminds me a bit of rye bread, citrus, and Werther’ toffee candy. Nice. You’ll taste the toffee in your first sip. Not as spicy as some Ryes, but it’s there, might be that it’s 90 proof. Its medium bodied, not overwhelming. Not many subtitles, I don’t think. So, I think that this Redwood Empire Emerald Giant Rye is a pretty good sipping Rye in a great bottle. At $30, I think that it will excel in a Manhattan. I’ll buy this Rye agsin.30.0 USD per Bottle
