A very thin taste. Light, good for early in the day, I suppose. That label states that it has a low, deep impact toast profile. I didn’t really taste that. The aroma and the taste are strangely very different. I smelled some floral and fruit, but the taste was a bit leather-like to me. A fairly expensive Bourbon, but, I’m happy to have tried an experiment.

The bottle is very nice - I like the green print and Muir quote on the label. After the crack you’ll see that see the Rye is a sparkling light caramel color. The aroma reminds me a bit of rye bread, citrus, and Werther’ toffee candy. Nice. You’ll taste the toffee in your first sip. Not as spicy as some Ryes, but it’s there, might be that it’s 90 proof. Its medium bodied, not overwhelming. Not many subtitles, I don’t think. So, I think that this Redwood Empire Emerald Giant Rye is a pretty good sipping Rye in a great bottle. At $30, I think that it will excel in a Manhattan. I’ll buy this Rye agsin.

Very nice taste. Smooth. Great to drink straight. Sipping whiskey. Not overpowering, not medicinal. I highly recommend this whiskey for the price. This is a great addition to your Irish arsenal.

I’m a huge fan of this single barrel bourbon. Really excellent color, and the taste is exquisite. Excellent for sipping over an ice sphere. No need whatsoever for any dilution. I received this bottle as a gift, so I don’t know the price. I’m putting this on my list, though. All in all, I really recommend this bourbon.

I’m sorry to say that I’m not thrilled with this bourbon. Not very smooth for sipping. It’s okay in a Manhattan, with an overdose of Sweet Vermouth and an extra dropper of bitters and a really, really cold glass.

I highly recommend. The proof is up there, but the flavors are wonderful. Really dances in your mouth. I found cutting it with just a touch of good spring water, like Fiji, enhances the flavors. My family gave me ice sphere trays, so the spring water goes in there.
