Specs pick, barrel #7112094 Nose: vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon Palate: this has the mouthfeel of creamy butterscotch candy but with the taste of a cinnamon red hot. Plenty of charred creme brûlée crust to keep you entertained Finish: cinnamon candy and vanilla Summary: this is a no brainier buy for $35 but for a wheater in the same price range I’ll always spend the extra couple bucks for a MM cask strength35.0 USD per Bottle

Finishing a bottle I’ve had since 2015..before the label update. Nose: faint vanilla and sweet wood, sweet ripe pears and Fuji apples Palate: the fruits are so delicately layered with the wood. There are no sharp changes in the palate just graceful transitions. Smooth as a 12 year olds face before their raging hormones turn their face into something that resembles the geography of the surface of the moon. Finish: the ripe pear transitions into artificially sweet pear juice from a plastic jug and slightly salty honey I don’t remember what this runs a bottle but is a solid into to scotch for someone who is transitioning from clear spirits, or for a Crown drinker who wants to feel less trashy for on a special occasion. Nothing to write home about but I’d gladly accept a pour if someone was offering.

I have been excited to grab a bottle of this but didn’t have to wait long because @tbran19 gave me a sample of his! Nose: damp wood, leather, caramelized sugars Palate: black pepper, dark corn syrup, and what I can only describe as the crunchy sugary crust on top of a buttermilk pie Finish: leather, banana, cloves, and brown sugar on the finish Definitely a bottle I will be adding to my collection

Nose: vanilla custard, very sweet like the vanilla custard in a cheap long John, faint rye bread, and fig. I think there is some crisp apple in the background as well. Palate: vanilla and brown sugar coat the palate, doesn’t taste as sweet as it smells, baking spices are present but cinnamon is the dominant spice Finish: finishes with sweet spicy cinnamon like a red hot candy. Vanilla and oak are then final notes Thanks @tbran19 for cracking your RWB bottle for the 4th!

Nose: the nose on this is amazing, I got baked apple pie with tons of cinnamon and nutmeg, toffee, caramel, brown sugar Palate: mouthfeel fairly thin, but provides more toffee, caramel, and cinnamon Finish: once the ethanol dissipated, my palate was coated with candy apple and caramelized brown sugar

Appearance: golden copper, medium legs that hang around for a while before dissipating Nose: simple brown sugar, raw oak that smells just like an oak cutting board that has remnants of cinnamon sugar from cutting cinnamon rolls out. Palate: a burst of orange pleasantly surprised me! Tons of cinnamon, raw dark brown sugar, and nutmeg. Finish: finish is pretty hot, doesn’t feel like rye spice, feels like ethanol. Once the ethanol fades, vanilla and cinnamon take over until orange peel is the last to fade away Bottle was a generous gift from @tbran19 thank you!!

Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon (2020 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 28, 20212020 release, sample given to me by @trentoniousmaximus thanks brother! Appearance: pale amber, legs are thin and run down the side of the glencairn fast leaving copper droplets behind Nose: I have to say this is one of the most interesting noses I’ve encountered. I can’t name every aroma, but immediately after removing the challenge coin I’m getting vanilla frosting on a sweet moist vanilla cupcake. How can that not scream DELICIOUS. After the initial sugar rush, I get stone fruit, a little banana, tart blueberry and a base aroma of iron..almost bloody minerals. I’m also having trouble discerning if this metallic iron has an iodine background, or if I’m insane. Palate: the stone fruit definitely continues. Not as juicy sweet as nectarine, closer to apricot that still has some tartness. There is a slight musty peanut that balances out the fruit. Big brown sugar on the tip of my tongue and slight barrel char on the roof of my mouth. Finish: I had high hopes of a big finish, but the thin body just can’t hang around. Typical oak and brown sugar, but the interesting note I can only describe as the smell of the dusty crumbs in a vanilla wafer box. I sure wish I knew what this tasted like straight from the barrel. -
Smoke Wagon Small Batch Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Nevada), USA
Reviewed June 24, 2021This bottle was generously given to me by @tbran19 thank you!! Nose: faint cherry, typical oak, sweet vanilla Palate: cherry is definitely here with brown sugar, has a nutty characteristic that reminds me of a candied pecan. Definitely has some rye spice with a nice warming Kentucky hug. Finish: initial finish is black pepper but fades to more brown sugar with baking spices To me this is a no brainier buy it if you see it. The UU is a whole other level, but this is certainly worth the price.48.0 USD per Bottle
